Possible Trigger Warning***
Does anyone have experience using cytotec postpartum?
I went to see my Dr for weird pp bleeding and uterine pain and she referred me to get an ultrasound. Turns out I have tissue remaining but it's unclear if it is placenta or just clots. I have been prescribed cytotec to expel the material but did some research online and am now terrified to use it. Has anyone used cytotec postpartum? What was your experience?
I have no experience with Cytotec. but I can say from experience it is not always the best idea to read things online. Coming from working in the medical field it is mostly a pain for us, we call it Dr Googling. A lot of what you can read and find on google is inaccurate or coming from someone's personal thought not actual science. If you feel the need to look thing sup use google scholar the articles are more science driven there. I am not saying that the information you read was bad, but just be careful where the information is coming from. Your Dr would not give you anything if there was a risk to your safety. If you are concerned contact your dr and they should be able to talk to you about the risk involved.

I'm a little late on this, but I wanted to chime in. I didn't use it postpartum, but that is what was used when I was induced with LO. Everyone on our board was talking about how horrible it is and how glad they were that they were being induced with something else. I spent all morning at work googling, and becoming more and more terrified with each thing I read (mostly from blogs and lawyers, duh on me).
I had an appt that day so I went in all upset that this stuff was going to kill me and my baby. My doctor lectured me for listening to what I read online, gave me some very informative info from the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and I felt much better after reading it. My induction failed, but both me and my baby were fine using the Cytotec. Good luck.

angelsnight thanks for sharing your experience. The personal accounts I was reading as well as the articles online were pretty nerve wracking for me. Google should be avoided. I was scared I would hemmorage or something or be in intense pain at home with a toddler and newborn and not be able to help/relief when needed etc. Probably a lot of PPA as well influencing my fear. My Dr was amazing and helped with through the use of them. It was actually not that bad. I didn't have the cramps that I was warned about and the bleeding was like a period. They worked for me which was a relief so a D&C wasn't needs. So glad to be past that!
