Half hour left of work and then I'm off for the weekend! MIL is going to come over for a few hours tonight and watch A so DH and I can use the movie tickets I got for employee of the month! We haven't been to a movie together since before A and we used to go a lot. Can't wait for movie theatre popcorn
I came close this am to giving DH a good throat punch. I left work a few minutes early this morning so I could see dd before H took her to daycare. Well I walk in the door and H hands me dd and says here you take her to daycare. Ahh excuse me, you drive past daycare to get to school. He was bitching about how A was up all night and he hadn't had breakfast yet. Welcome to my life!! Man I can't wait for date night with crabby pants tonight.

That sounds like fun! We've been lucky enough to get to the movies twice since DD was born but I wish we could go more. Movie popcorn is one of my favorite foods!!!
Eta: don't let Mr Crabby Pants wreck your night! I'm with sweetsurprise, hoard all the popcorn!

So the theme to the party last night was 'back to school.' I googled the styles kids are wearing these days and put together a short skirt, tshirt, boots and braid pigtails. My H is a high school teacher so I asked him 'do I look like one of your students?' and he said 'no. You look like a hooker.' Lol.
ajh1230 - Have fun at the movie! Silly H of yours - he's gonna wish he had more popcorn tonight, but lessons have to be learned. What are you going to see?
sweetsurprise - great work not being hung over! And STTN. Teach me your ways!

H doesn't like popcorn, so I don't have to share ever!

I think we are going to see Trainwreck.
And yes sweetsurprise send that unicorn dust to the Midwest!
ajh1230 TP to your H. I hardly slept last night, in part because I drank too much and that makes it hard to fall back to sleep, and mostly because I have a million things to worry about. When DS woke for the day at 6:30, I handed him to DH so I could get 20 more minutes, and, of course he was a jerk about it. I didn't even respond. I just walked off and hoped DS didn't eat the cat food. My mom and brother are coming over for breakfast today, so that should be fun! Then I have a hot date with a nap this afternoon. Finally taking that advise to sleep when the baby sleeps.

Omg I love Amy Schumer! Haven't seen Trainwreck yet but I hear it's good.

That nap date sounds awesome. Now I want movie popcorn in bed...

Dudes. DS has STTN multiple days in a row. W. T. F. Who stole my baby and replaced him with a unicorn? I'm not sharing the dust. I'm hanging on to every particle.
I was unexpectedly called in to work yesterday. I didn't have a sitter so I had to take DD. Then i had an event last night too so i had to take the kid to MIL's and head to that. The event went really smoothly and I got back to MIL's a tiny bit early to find myself locked out because they had all gone to some baby consignment sale. When they got back DD still hadn't eaten dinner or had her diaper changed and by then it was after 8. I didn't end up getting home until almost 10, ugh. Work asked if I could come in today too, I said OK but I'm taking my time because yesterday was pretty exhausting. I have to take DD again today and DH got an opportunity to work some overtime tomorrow that we can't afford to pass up so I'm most likely taking her tomorrow too. I kind of can't wait for daycare to start!

kellrr - sorry sleep was elusive for you last night. I've been having problems sleeping lately because I'm up worrying about stuff too. Last night I unleashed all of my worry and thoughts on H before bed. It helped me not think so much about them overnight.
Sounds like you've got a good day planned. Enjoy le nap!
I am obsessed with Amy Schumer too. We saw Trainwreck and it was hilarious. Do you guys watch the Amy Schumer show?
I have, but only a couple of times. Secondary to our tiny ass apartment and proximity of baby to TV we have pretty much stopped watching TV all together, because sleeping baby wins over everything. I really wish she would come do stand up here.
Not much going on here. It's technically my weekend off, but I'm working tomorrow afternoon. I need to get the oil in my car changed, haven't decided if I'm going to do that today or not.
Baby question. At our 9mo appt last week the pedi was saying that I should try and get LO down to 3 bottles in a day and the rest be real food. How much milk/formula/real food do you think you ladies are giving your babes? To me 3 bottles just seems a bit crazy. I'd say we are at about 36oz total of formula, with 4-5 bottles in a day. I'm still on purees and small bits of food as we have no teeth yet. He does like the baby food, but I have a hard time getting him to eat a lot of it. Guess I'll have to maybe start offering the baby food first before his bottles, maybe that'll make a difference?

I love taking advantage of napping with A in the afternoon. The way I see it is that really I do it for her, so she is better rested. If we co-sleep for her nap she sleeps at least twice as long vs napping in her crib

staryb damn girl! You are a busy notch! KMW08 hmmmm. 3 bottles isn't much at all. Our pedi didn't say anything about cutting down bottles. We are still doing 5 bottles a day.

This seems weird to me. You really don't start relying on more solids until they are a year. At this point most of their nutrition should come from formula or BM still. While some kids may be better eaters than others, I think it's still pretty normal not not be eating much for solids.
My dd is 10.5 months. She nurses 4-5 times a day still and once overnight. We have finally gotten her up to 3 meals and a snack during the day. She usually nurses within an hour of eating (either before or after). She doesn't eat a great deal at her meals, but my goal is just to get her used to having solid food at those times.
As far as how much real food to give, I would let ds set the pace. Dd has pretty much started refusing to be spoon fed - but when we did do purres she hardly ever ate more than one whole container at a meal - and that was rare. Kids this age are often picky eaters that don't eat much. So I don't want to say to not listen to your pedi - but I think you have to do what feels right for you and your LO too. If that makes sense.

I'm starting with two days in September and adding a third the week after her birthday. MIL is going to watch her on Mondays and DH typically home with her on Saturdays.
