P plays on her leappad. The only thing she can do right now is load and use the colouring program. I'd say probably 5 - 10 minutes a few times a day is all she uses it right now.
It also kind of shocks me how many of you guys mention them having their own tablets. Is this a thing? This is totally not the norm in my IRL circles. I have never gotten my kids any toys besides second hand stuff though so I'm definitely the other extreme.
It's definitely a thing around here, although I've never jumped on that bandwagon. DH and I each have an older iPad 2 and she watches the occasional Netflix show on either one. We really haven't got into any apps yet. I was appalled when I offered a tired, cranky, 18 month old M my phone with a Netflix show to keep her busy in her car seat last winter while I finished a conversation with an acquaintance outside the gymnastics studio. The acquaintance says to me, "she doesn't have her own tablet yet?" Like that's weird that an 18 month old doesn't have one. I have no plans to get her one.
I guess I can understand when you get new technology passing it along- we just never get new technology! Haha. The only tablet we have is an iPad DH and my parents bought me as a graduation present for my masters and it's engraved so I make sure even though it's in the fisher price case, the boys know it's mummy's and I'm letting them borrow it because I'm nice. I only ever use the iPad for porn anyway so it's not like there's a conflict of us both needing it at the same time. I knew I could find a way to make this thread tawdry!
