Good morning! My friend and I took our kids to the zoo yesterday. They have this new Island themed area with a sandy beach play area so we let them crawl around in the sand together and it was adorable. Then when we took them home they were both filthy so they had their first bath together and it was even more adorable! It was such a wonderful milestone for our little besties
Yesterday I dropped by dds daycare to go over things with her teachers, then let dd play some in the room for a little bit. Seeing her with all the other babies was adorable. I was imagining who she will be besties with.
Dd slept like crap last night. It took forever to get her down, and then she was up multiple times and seemed unsettled, like she does when she's getting sick. She also ate a crap ton. Hoping it was just a random bad night and they she's not actually getting sick. She seems mostly herself this morning.
In other news I think that AF is finally trying to return and it's kind of awful. I've been crampy for a couple of days and I'm super bloated. I've gained 3 pounds in as many days and I'm hoping it's just water weight. My BM supply has dipped pretty dramatically too and I don't know if it's temporary or if I'm about to be done with BF. I was planning on weaning in the next month and a half anyway but now I worry I won't last that long. Like yesterday morning I only pumped 4 oz total between both boobs after DD STTN. 4 oz after 10 hours seems pretty pathetic. As a precaution I let DD try some formula yesterday just in case she ever runs out of milk at daycare. She gulped it down so that was reassuring. I also let her try a little WCM which she was less enthused about. In any case I'm hoping we have enough frozen BM to get through September and that it won't even be an issue but it's definitely a concern right now. Plus DD loves the boob, has zero interest in weaning and still nurses to sleep almost exclusively so I don't know how we're going to get past that.

I'm super excited to see my kid making friends at daycare too. I have a feeling that I'm going to be obsessing over the webcam feed for the first few days at work.
Eta: Gingers crossed that your DD isn't getting sick!
staryb - sorry AF may be making a return. FWIW, when I first got AF back it seemed like my supply really tanked. It took a number of days, but it came back. I just nirsed dd more often during that time. With subsequent AF, my supply doesn't seem to have taken nearly as much of a hit.

When you are ready to start weaning and you start giving her more bottles she may self wean from the boob. As soon as I started giving K any bottles when I would have normally given her the boob she started to become less interested in the boob.

DD has gotten a lot of bottles over the last several months but still prefers boob at bedtime. DH has had some success putting her to bed with a bottle but if I'm around she just wants me. I'm thinking that he may have to take over bedtime once and awhile for this transition to work. Then again I'm not totally sure how mentally ready I am for it either so I may continue to BF in the morning and evening for awhile and just wean from the pump. We'll see.
jellykat2, I'm just getting caught up on yesterday's randoms and wanted to throw in my 2 cents on the car seat topic. We have the Graco my size 65 and it fits in our fiat 500. It's a little tight but it works. I figure it's worth mentioning since no one thought we'd even be able to fit a car seat in there at all lol
I bought diet breakfast sandwiches. I was stoked that they were like 200 calories. And then after one, I was so hungry, I ate the other. I could have just eaten one regular one and enjoyed it so much more.

I hate when something low calorie doesn't fill you up. I always end up eating two or three of the thing, and it's totally worse than if I had just had one regular calorie item.
What kind were they. I'll put them on my do not buy list.

Amen. I tried the egg white egg McMuffin once and was like "it's only 55 calories more for the real thing? Yah, gimme that."
I'm here! I'm so tired and I went to bed BEFORE drunksurprise, so I don't know how that notch is vertical. Bravo, lad. I stayed up to hand-write and address those invites. What was I thinking? Why did I not just print them and glue that inside? My hand hurts. But, seriously, they are perfect. Just got back from running and realized I don't know WHO WON THE NOTCH BET?!! Tell me!!!

So you made those gorgeous invites that you are now hand addressing AND you went for a run today?? Meanwhile I'm over here wondering why the dishes aren't doing themselves...

Kroger flatbread ham and cheese egg breakfast sandwiches. 190 cal, and they were "all right," but not super filling.

Hi friends!!! So. I'm not hungover anymore. Last night was amazingly fun. We ate all the foods, drank all the wine and even won a silent auction item! Here's a pic of H and me!
I do have to say that DS was a COMPLETE donkey last night. Up at 1 and then up from 3-5am while I was a dizzy, hungover notch. I was soooo annoyed and felt like shit. However he woke up in cutest, giggliest mood and my mama brain totally forgave his donkey ways.

kellrr FTW with those amazing invitations!!!!!! ajh1230 thanks for helping me through this morning with your photos and words of encouragement. I felt like death this morning. So sorry you had a bad night at work. jellykat2 so sorry for your donkey sleeper. Glad DD had fun at daycare though! staryb gl with your supply issues. Dumb AF is a ho. applegrape eew. Diet things are gross.
@starby I feel the same way about weaning. My pumping output has gone downhill and I'm eager to wean from the pump, but DS loves to nurse despite taking bottles all day long. Not sure how a transition to all WCM will go.
The weaning discussion reminded me. How well are your LO's drinking out of sippy cups? We give DS a sippy cup of water. He gets really excited about it and loves to suck/chew on the spout, but spits out 90% of the water. I'd prefer to introduce WCM in a cup vs a bottle, but am not sure how much he would actually swallow from a cup.

I'm with you guys on not knowing how these next couple of months will go. I'm quiet certain that I don't have enough milk in the freezer to get us through until her 1 year. I don't want to start pumping again when I start work. Right now I plan on continuing to nurse while home in the morning and evening and hope my supply keeps up for it. I'm hoping she'll be willing to take WCM during the day and still nurse from me too.

DS is great with the straw sippy cup and not great at the one with the spout. Actually! We went to a restaurant the other night and they brought us a plastic cup with a real straw and DS was able to drink water from it. I was shocked. That being said, he still doesn't say mama. You can't win them all...

What type of sippy are you using? My dd does really well with the nuby kind that you have to bite a little without spilling on herself. Other sippys with a hard spout she tends to spill much more water all over herself, and seems to just be getting the hang of it. Have you tried different kinds?

DH has another float trip this weekend. While I hate that he gets all this free time, with my uncle and MIL issues, a weekend without him sounds kinda nice. I finished the box o' wine last night... Headed to the wine recommendations thread to choose my weekend booze!
