We close on our new house this morning! Then I have an all-day conference on employment law today and tomorrow that I'm super excited for. These are my colleagues and friends, and I'm excited to promote my new practice! Then we have a weekend full of Home Depot, painting, cleaning, and more packing.

Yeah congrats!! Have a full pen, I swear I signed 50+ pages when we closed on our house.
Today is my Friday!! I'm leaving work now and I don't have to be back until next Wednesday night. BIL is getting married this weekend so I'm using PTO for Saturday & Sunday.

After a week of donkey sleep, DS finally STTN. His timing was good. I was about to lose it. I think I just now fully recovered from my drunksurprise night.
sweetsurprise I have a couple dresses that she can wear but they are 12 months so I'm not sure if they'll be too big yet. She is still in 6-9 mo clothes. I'll be sure to put pics up on Instagram.

My MIL just informed me we are having a birthday party for K next weekend while they are here. I definitely wasn't planning on that...
Is this the only birthday party she's getting or is it just a small one for them?
It's just a small one for them. We are doing her actual party in Washington at a kids play place. I am thinking we can do a cake smash with his parents since we will be home and much easier to clean up. It's not a big deal I just didn't know she was planning on us doing one. They are coming down for my husband's promotion ceremony.

My DD is also in mostly 9M and even some 6M clothes but I've noticed with dresses 12M sizes work well on her too. They cover her little bum better at least as I've noticed even 9M dresses are starting to look more like long shirts on her now.

That sounds like a fun weekend then actually. Please post cake smash pics if you do it while they're there! K is going to be an adorable mess haha she's going to have icing in all of that beautiful hair of hers!
So today is pretty much my Monday for this week. I have events to shoot tonight and tomorrow and then boring office work on Saturday as usual. Both events should be fun though. They're both the outdoor festival type. Tonight is all about food and then tomorrow is called the "posh picnic" lol. I've been informed that I should embrace the theme and wear my "best summer cocktail dress" yikes, really?? Luckily most of my dresses fit but normally I wouldn't consider them work appropriate... Maybe the dress from DD's baptism will do.

kellrr Congrats! That sounds like a fun weekend! I hate packing but unpacking and setting up house are so much fun! I cant wait for our move! Have a great weekend!
@keller are the housing costs in your area as ridiculous as I think they are in my city? I've seen really tiny 3bed/1bath go for 350k and that seems wrong. We will probably never afford a house at this rate.

Im not kellrr, but in my area 3 bed/1bath is in 150k or less, usually lower 100ks. Thats crazy it is so expensive where you live.

F just started doing the most adorable thing. She gets on all fours and lays her head down on the side. We say Goodnight. Then she lifts her head with huge smile on her face and we say Good Morning! Then she repeats it four or five times. It's so damn cute!

applegrape It all depends on the neighborhood. In our area it's about $300k for a 3 br/2 bath. Plus the property taxes here outrageous. That being said, if you move out to the burbs you could buy the same for half the price. I refuse to have a long commute though. So we have a smaller house.

No. NoCO is where it's at for affordable housing. But, it smells like cows.
