@babylentilbean I had a membrane sweep with DS at 39w5d, but I was also dialated and on my way to ready. I don't mind it at that point but I think having it at 36 and 37 weeks is not ok at all.
Eta: I agree about the new BMB and being super laid back. I almost miss the drama that we he way back when.
Also, sometimes I think my new bmb is too laid back about some things. I have been shocked by all the things that have been posted and no one calls them out.
Eta: I think more people would but no one wants to disturb the drama free atmosphere. It's just a huge change from the way out bmb was.
I've thought that too. One person was told off and it was done pretty politely haha

What are some things that aren't being flamed? I still side eye that mom for taking her baby out of the car seat in a moving vehicle. I don't remember which BMB it was. The flaming was only mild and for sure would have ended in a GBCB before the new site.

One girl posted 3 times in ONE thread about her weight loss. She went on and on about how her pants wouldn't fit anymore. It was very AW in a bad way.
There are tons more I just can't think of them off the top of my head.

After 6 months, I finally achieved a 2.0 milestone today - made it though a shopping trip at Target with both kids and no other adults!! Torn between feeling proud and silly because it took so long :/

Good for you!! Just within the past few weeks I've started to go on shopping trips with both girls by myself. It is very stressful. I only go to one store with a small shopping list. Lol

What dr would actually do it that early?
I have no clue, but it just bugs me that it's being done and considered that early.

I'm laying in DS's twin bed with him and I have DD on my chest because she was fussing and DH couldn't calm her down. I'm so tired but there's no way I can fall asleep here. I'm giving DS 3 more minutes then I'm headed back to my own bed to sleep.
The other day I saw a cute photo of my mom, 3yo me and my infant little brother all asleep in bed together. My first thought was, wow how did she get any sleep like that?!? My second thought was, WTF Dad the most helpful thing you could think of to do was take a photo?

We have a 17 hour car ride coming up soon and I need some suggestions. Space is limited so I don't want to go too overboard. I'm putting one of those cloth cube bins together of activities for DD1, what would you put in it? So far I have some stickers, stamps, a couple of books, and we are getting her a tablet.
Also, what the heck do I bring to keep a 7.5 month old occupied?!
As for the membrane sweeps, My OBGYN did mine at 37 weeks because LO was big already and he was afraid that if we waited until She was ready she would be too big for me to have her naturally without a C-section. I did not want a C-section so she came 3 weeks early at over 8 pounds with no complications. There could be other reasons for the sweeping than what the moms are saying.

When we took a plane trip for vacation the following were the biggest hits:
- Snacks. seriously, all the snacks. I even bought those weekday pill box holder things and stuffed a few random treats in each compartment (goldfish, raisenetts, m&ms, fruit snacks). That kept E occupied for almost an hr. - Melissa and Doug Water wow books. No mess - reusable and dries by itself. - Can DD1 reach the window from her seat? Target always has those gel stickies that cling to windows/glass. We bought a few for $1 each and they were a big hit putting them on and taking them off.
Not many tips here for a 7.5 month old. E was never great in the car at that age despite our attempts at distraction...

younglove316 damn you are brave! We have a 3.5 hour car trip this summer that I'm dreading with 2 kids. My suggestions: crayons & coloring book, favorite music/songs on CDs/iPod, play doh, and this:

I'm not really looking forward to this but we couldn't afford to fly. Since we are going for a wedding though, we have to be there. We considered renting an RV but the mileage would have cost a fortune.

Tonight is the last night that DH and I have help at home with both kids. Tomorrow we are traveling to see family (because I'm sick of people at our house) and then when we come home we are 100% on our own. I'm super nervous about it and have a feeling it may cause a lot of emotional break downs on my part.....
However, I'm so ready for my own space again even though I love my parents (who've been helping us the last 2 weeks) dearly.

Thanks ladies!! Once DH leaves for work in the morning I'm officially on my own for 12 hours straight (he's shift work and does 12 hour or longer shifts). Thankfully he only works Monday and Tuesday day half shifts but then an overnight on Wednesday he's then off until the following Monday night.
I told him I'd be doing the best that I can and he will have to understand if things aren't done or perfect.

That is all you can do. My husband also works 12 hour shifts and the first week or so, I definitely fell behind and didn't keep up. Once you find a groove and get into a routine it does get easier. For me, DD1 was allowed more TV than usual and I found stuff to keep her occupied like those color wonder markers that only work on certain paper and stickers.

I always tell my H, " if you want something done quicker than I'm able to do it, do it yourself."
Lol, which is why he usually cleans out the fridge. I always forget about that.

I'm sure you are doing great!! Your husband better not complain!
We are going to a girls birthday party next weekend. She is turning 4. I asked her mom what she wants. Mom said she loves crafts so I'm going to get her a gift card to Michaels or AC Moore. How much should I get for the gift card? $20? $25? We are friends with this family but not super close.

Honestly, I think $15 is good. I certainly wouldn't go over $25.
