wedding I read firefly lane a few years ago, and have read a lot of her books. All pretty good and easy reads. I'm actually reading Fly Away now (well I started reading it a few weeks ago but haven't picked it up since Ben was born). It picks up a few years after Firefly Lane, so you might enjoy it.
guster I remember reading Prep when it first came out years ago. I don't remember much about it, other than that it wasn't my favorite, but I couldn't tell you my reasoning at this point haha.
wedding I read The Good Girl recently, also; I enjoyed it bc of the twists but I really disliked most of the characters, haha.

I have yet to finish the second Outlander book.
I'm going to half price tomorrow to locate IT by Stephen King since a remake is in the works. It is one of my favorite movies(tv mini series, I know), so I think it's about time I read the book.

I finished Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult yesterday. I had started it awhile back, but then put it down for other things and just came back to it last week. It was a good read and I wasn't expecting the ending, which was nice.
I'm now reading In a Dark, Dark Wood, by Ruth Ware. It says its a thriller, so I'm hoping to be thrilled. I also got Stephen King's It in the mail yesterday, so I'll be starting that once I'm finished with this one.
I just finished Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight. It was pretty good. A little coming of age and a little suspense. I just started another one by her called Where they found her. So far it is good but deals with a lot of child/pregnancy loss so it may trigger.
I will have to look for Where They Found Her. I enjoyed Reconstructing Amelia...I'll never put my child in an elite NYC prep school, but I enjoyed the book
Not fiction, but did anyone read Glennon Doyle Melton's (from Momastery) new book: Love Warrior?
I mean, damn.
I'm about halfway through. I think it's amazing. Some of the passages I've been reading out loud to DH (not that he's listening) because I feel like she's saying some of the stuff I feel.

I agree! And I've been talking to my DH about it too. There is a lot that I can identify with in it.
I feel like this could be an N13 book club book. There are so many relevant topics that we already discuss...and some we don't.
Has anyone seen the movie The Light Between Oceans? I loved the book but I'm afraid to blubber in the theatre so I may wait until it comes out to rent.
I want to see it! I've openly sobbed on a crowded plane while reading, so sobbing in a dark theater doesn't phase me in the slightest. Plus I saw Magic Mike XXL in the theater*, so I have no shame.
*I was drinking and with friends, if that makes it more socially acceptable
wedding I read the book and also would like to see A Light Between Oceans, but DH isn't interested. Now that my mom is back in town (well, as of Wednesday), she and I may go together.
Just started a new book last night that seems like it has potential...Circling the Sun by Paula McLain (who also wrote The Paris Wife, which I loved). It's based on the true story of a young British woman who goes on to become a famed aviator, and is set in Africa in the 1920s. Will keep y'all posted.
I just finished Good Girl, I enjoyed it. I do agree with LizInFL , that none of the character were particularly likable.
I'm currently reading, Home by Harlan Coban. I love his books. He's a great suspense writer and is always throwing twists and turns into the plot. I hate when I can guess what's going to happen, and with his books I usually can't.

Just finished the Goldfinch. I liked it and the 900 pages went quickly enough, but not sure I really enjoyed the ending. Not sure what I was expecting though, but something more based on how popular it is.

I'm not sure either, I've just always done it that way. I have a book at work, one by my bed, and one in the living room. When I get a moment, depending on where I am, that's the book I read. They are usually pretty different, so I'm able to keep them straight while I read.
I just finished Jodi Picoults new release, "Small great things". It was really good! I recommend to everyone however it does deal with the loss of an infant so keep that in mind
I just started it today! So far so good. It's always interesting when an author writes about something you know well (in this case my job), because you notice all the 'uh, that's not quite right' moments.
I can't focus enough to read at the moment if my life depended on it. I bought five books before dd was born, haven't read any of them. Saving some of these for the near future!
This is how I feel. I just have no time. I've got 2 books on my kindle now that I came off the waiting list for at my library. I think I'm about 5 sentences into one of them.
yummeecookee , I mostly listen to audiobooks. It takes me longer to get through a book then reading, but it keeps me current on books I want to 'read'. I'll get back to reading again when the kids are in HS
I've read several new things lately, but one I just finished that kept me engrossed was called Lilac Girls, by Martha Hall Kelly. Based on real people and events, it links the stories of three women (one American) and their experiences during WWII, and how their lives converged during and after the war. Definitely not a light read, but very well written and researched. I literally could not put it down.
