Scout is a lab and is about 4. As part of some other bloodwork the vet noticed his liver enzymes were high (140) and when we rechecked they were even higher (190). This is over a span of about 2 months. Any experience or tips on dealing with this are appreciated! The vet mentioned antibiotics and a special dog food.
Just for additional info, we feed blue buffalo and he gets his share of people food but mostly healthy stuff - cheese carrots apples, the worst is probably gold fish crackers etc. he's pretty active but a little less so this winter due to an injury on his paw...wondering if the inury (infected nail/quick that had to be remove) and/or lack of injury is a factor.
Our dachshund has liver health issue and we give him a supplement an hour before eating which helps his levels stay down. I'm attempting to link on mobile
Our GSP just went through this, too. Vet put him on antibiotics for a bit and liver treats. He's doing better. He's entering senior years but overall in good health (otherwise). We also feed a good diet on Orijen which - as you know - makes such an immense difference in our pups' health! Hopefully this is just an anomaly for you and clears up very soon.
