Hi ladies. I'm 28 weeks and 3 days. I feel pretty good except for heartburn. I was previously dealing with really sore muscles (back and crotch) but I'm feeling much better, which makes me think I actually pulled them and they finally healed. Whatever, I'll take it. I had a quick check-up with the OB yesterday and now I start going every two weeks. She told me to start kick counts. Kick counts inspired some anxiety in me because I'm nervous about doing it right and freaking out if I don't get enough, so I need to focus on staying calm about that. Baby was really active yesterday so that made the first day of counting easier.

35+2 here.... It's definitely getting harder and harder to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Some first tri symptoms are coming back, yay for night nausea and some heartburn!
25 weeks and 5 days here and Holy Heartburn Batman! After lunch yesterday, baked potato and salad, it was awful! I know spicy foods trigger it, but it seems to just pop up randomly all the time now. Thank goodness I have extra pillows to sleep sitting up and tums.

21 weeks today. I made my first official baby purchase last night. Carter's was having a sale and I couldn't resist. We also went to BRU to look at stroller and car seats. That made it more real for my DH. He had never seen so many pregnant women in one place.
backstreetpixie Kidney stones suck. My DH has passed three since we have been together. I can't imagine being pregnant AND dealing with kidney stones too.
downtheshore I am glad baby was active for your first day of kick counting!

backstreetpixie - Hope that kidney stone resolves soon! Sounds awful.
I'm 28+4 today. I've mentioned here the terrible heartburn I've been having. Friday night, after doing everything right, I might add, it was just awful. I'm sleeping in the guest room (lonely with no pup and no cuddles from DH!), on an angled bed with about 6,000 pillows. I woke up at about 5 AM STARVING (I lost a few pounds dealing with this crap), but scared to eat and go back to sleep as I knew that would have terrible results, and I thought, "I give up." I drove to the 24 pharmacy and bought myself Zantac, which I'm now taking twice a day (75 unit pill). It took a couple of days to kick in, but my heartburn is finally manageable. I did check with my midwife, and she totally approved this plan, and warned me that I may have to up the dose as I get further along. I still have to be careful with what I eat, and I haven't moved back in with DH yet, but I'm so relieved I could cry.
That's my story this week. Now let's just hope I didn't jinx myself by sharing this!!!
31 weeks here! I'm having a really hard time with preparing and PGAL brain. I'm trying to get little things done but even buying diapers and wipes made my head spin a little, putting them in her closet made it worse. How are you ladies handling preparing with anxiety?
Other than that, trying to will her to turn head down and for my anterior low lying placenta to get out of the way . We have another u/s scheduled at 34 wks to check so fingers crossed!

Hi ladies!
18 weeks today! Feeling pretty good, I went from taking zofran to being able to take a 1/2 a unisom at night and fingers crossed it's been managing my morning sickness.
Still having a hell of a time sleeping comfortably. I can never seem to find the right position even with extra pillows. The unisom before bed helps though.
A/S is first thing tomorrow morning!!! I'm so excited to see our little nugget! I'm just counting down the hours in this day so we can get to tomorrow morning
PgAL brain always seem to kick in before appointments so I keep checking in with the Doppler. I've been feeling a lot more movement the last few days which has helped ease my mind.

Cobaby1 I don't have any advice for trying to prepare with PgAL brain, but lots of baby turning vibes!!
pblge glad the Zantac is working! Heartburn is so miserable
downtheshore kick counts can definitely be stressful. I typically never actually counted. I would check in every couple hours and make sure he was moving. DS was a super active inside baby.
Backstreetpixie I'm sorry you're still dealing with the kidney stones, I hope they get sorted out soon!

To all ladies still dealing with PGAL brain. I still deal with it even now. If I haven't felt her move in a few hours, I have to push on where I can feel her to make her move.
Even though my loss was very early (at 9w) I still struggle with the concept that she's in there and healthy and that she's coming home. Thankfully my H is very understanding and when I'm starting to freak out, he calms me down.
I'm 36+6 today and pretty uncomfortable in every position except lying on my side. Doesn't do much for getting things done around the house when I am lying on the couch. Oh well.
Between having to get over PGAL brain and having a late shower (this past Sunday) I have finally gotten down to business setting up my nursery. It feels really good putting things away. Also, because I am stuck at home all day today due to the snow, there will be some serious online registry completion going on.
Also, I had an ultrasound yesterday to confirm that baby is head down, and she is! Yay!
natalie115 Have fun at your u/s! 20 weeks was my favorite.
cobaby1 good luck with the anxiety, as you can see above, I dealt with it by avoiding. This led to anxiety about not being ready. Hope you come up with a better way.
ProfessorChaos Glad you found a way to deal with the heart burn, I have heard good things about Zantac.
mrskblack11 Yay for baby purchases! Trust me, you will be glad you started early.
kate6214 I think for many of us there are two types of food/drink right now: foods that cause heart burn and foods that cause really bad heart burn. I tried giving up spicy and acidic things but I still had the burn except that I wasn't eating foods that I enjoy.
downtheshore Certainly do what you doctor tells you, but I know a lot of women who simply pay attention to their LO's movements more than actually doing kick counts. Personally, my little girl will move around for hours at a time. The time that I have free to 'count' isn't always a time that she is moving either. Then again, my doctor has never asked me to produce my kick counts log.
Post by downtheshore on Jan 27, 2015 14:26:49 GMT -5
@smcniff, I agree regarding kick counts. I am not going to stress too much about actual counts, just be aware of her activity. Ido t have to bring a log to my doctor or anything.
So glad to hear baby is head down and ready to go! Rest up and lay on the couch!

Sorry about the muscle aches and heartburn. It was so surprising to me how painful pregnancy actually is.

Oh, I forgot. I won the grand prize in a raffle and the prize is a 1200 dollar newborn photography package! I am so super psyched! This photographer did my son's nb photos 2.5 years ago (at a much cheaper rate) and has since exploded in popularity, which she deserves, so I couldn't afford nb photos from her, so I am super-excited that I won this. (So excited that I wrote a huge run-on sentence).

darksidefootprint LO is already pretty low, she's been head down since at least my AS. I definitely feel her sometimes in my pelvis and definitely on my bladder. It seems like whenever she moves a bit I have to pee, even if I just went.

darksidefootprint congrats on the great prize. I've got so much growing left so I think the heartburn is here to stay for a while. I'm coping. It's just uncomfortable.
ProfessorChaos I'm glad you have a plan for your heartburn but I hope it goes away sooner rather then later.
cobaby1 I still haven't been able to buy much but with people giving me stuff it has been easier. I try to focus on my need to be prepared vs my pgal anxiety. The two battle often! Good luck!

I need to vent. I've been signed up for 4 different birthing classes and my one for this weekend just got canceled. I'm now scheduled for Feb. 14 but I'm due THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH! AHHH. I'm freaking out. The first class I had registered for online but it said to call for availability so I did.. for days.. and they didn't call to tell me I was good to come to the class until 1 hour before it was set to start. They then registered us for the next birthing class series which got canceled due to low census. Then they let me know of the next all day class (I assumed they registered us as they did after the first one) but then I called a week or so later to confirm and it was full. Then I confirmed my registration for this weekend and they emailed me back to confirm. Wtf- they had my email the whole time? I'm so annoyed. Sorry there's no real question. Well has anyone taken a birthing class? Was it helpful? What was most helpful? I'm freaking out over it
