I got to work EXTRA early today. And this time I made sure the husband had his keys before I left. Knocked out a bunch of emails and piddly little tasks that were clogging up my To Do List. I'm rewarding myself with 15 minutes of internet.
The good news is that the dinner with BIL and SIL is being rescheduled. I asked Dh about it as he was leaving this morning, and he said "it's too much today. We'll do it a different time." I'm glad because it is a PITA to drive down over an hour on a weekday, especially when we had so much to do. I'm thinking I might take DH and DS to dinner just our little family, though, so we can have a little time to talk about FIL and share our favorite memories.
Last night was awful! Dd is a snotty mess and would not lay in her crib so I ended up sleeping with her in the recliner. Why can't they make bigger rock n plays lol. Thankfully DH took her for an hour this morning before he left so I could sleep.
I think I'm going to need jellys wine bra to get through today!

kellrr - hope your day is better than how it started! I'm glad you'll get more family time and a small dinner tonight.
ajh1230 - sorry last night was so rough! Hope she gets better today so she sleeps all night will you finish drunksurprises DDD wine bra (that sounds weird, but I'm leaving it!)
Whelp. Dropped dd off this morning. It went okay. She of course cried, but I had I stop at the front desk on my way to check on something so peaked back at her before I left. She was at least not crying. Just staring at everything very intensely.
I've already gone to the grocery store and did some dishes. It's weird how quickly you can get stuff done without a baby attached to your side. I'm trying to keep myself busy so I don't think about her too much. I'll pick her up right after lunch, hopefully she won't be too much of a clingy mess the rest of the day.
Thinking of staryb and that this morning went okay for you and dd!
I don't start work for 2 weeks still, we're just starting dd now with daycare so we both get used to it and so I can get things in order before I start work.
Sent formula and 11.5 oz of breastmilk today. We had no time last night to try formula with dd so... I hope she likes it..
Hugs, mama. I know this has been a hard thing for you. I would take comfort that 11.5 oz is quite a bit, still, so she won't starve if she refuses the formula. When I was away from DS for 9 hours twice last week, he only took about 12 oz.
kellrr, I love your new little crown Also agreed - you need a mulligan
I have a lot to do today, but I am here of course. We ended up doing a ton of yard work last night and hopefully finishing it up tonight. We had a really close call with our lawn mower. We had DD outside in her PNP while H was going to cut the lawn and I was weeding. (My kid is weird and gets SO excited when H has the lawn mower running) Anyways, H stopped after a minute or so of running the mower and said it didn't sound right. Started it again, and he immediately stopped and said he thought something was wrong. Not 30 seconds later the blade fell off. It scared the crap out of us. I couldn't imagine what would have happened if he would have kept going.
MIL and I also ended up having a really nice conversation last night, and she thinks my SIL is just as spoiled and crazy as I do. I was almost relieved to hear it wasn't only me. I love that woman.
We are also revisiting the idea of listing our house this year yet. The realtor we are talking with is convinced that Q4 is way better than spring. So we need to go balls to the wall and try to get our house ready to list!
This may be old news to you, but I just realized that DS understands the word "clap", or at least the tone we use when we say " clap clap". I was reading a new book to him that included someone clapping. I said "clap clap" and he started clapping. I tested him again later and he will start clapping if we say "clap clap".
Makes me proud, but also sad that my baby is growing up so fast!

That is awesome!
DD started clapping this week when ever we say Yay! I agree they are growing so fast. SLOW DOWN BABIES. When did this happen?? I can't believe our kids are almost a year old!

Cute! A couple weeks ago, DS started clapping whenever people clap on TV. So sweet.
MrsTinMKE that is so scary about the mower! Glad your MIL sees through SIL, too. And, YOU CAN DO IT for the house listing! We got painting done in a weekend-I know you can get your projects done before the end of the year. I agree that lots of people like the idea of moving into a new home for the holidays (which I think is nuts), so hopefully you can find a buyer.
MrsTinMKE - so glad the lawnmower incident was what it was and not more. How scary! Also so glad MIL is on the same page about SIL. It's always refreshing to know other people see the same things in people you do. GL with coming to a decision about your house too. I think kellrr is right - if you guys want to do this you totally can!

It's so fun seeing them become little people. A couple of weeks ago I said to dd "go pick out a book, and entertain yourself" half jokingly because she was being a stage 12 clingon and I was trying to have a conversation with DH. She stopped clinging to me, walked across the room, and proceeded to go through all her books. I was like - whoa - she knows what books are, and understood (sort of, at least). It's crazy. I love it. But yes, SLOW THE F DOWN, YOURE PRACTICALLY AN ADULT! Haha
Daycare drop off went really well. My kid was still sleepy so she was kind of out of it at first but once she started looking around at all of the new toys she had to play with she started perking up real quick. I hung out for a bit and just watched play but it was quite clear that she was going to be fine. No tears or anything. I'm pretty sure that I'm taking it a lot harder than her. It just feels super weird. I stopped and picked up a box on munchkins on my way in to work, that has been my coping mechanism. So yeah, I'll be eating donuts all day. Donuts will help, right?
