So I've had a couple glasses tonight and was wondering what kind of wine you all like best. Red , white, dry, fruity? I love Pinot Noir with a buttery finish
I'll drink all kinds of stuff- not picky. However, I discovered a while back that red seems to give me a headache, so I'm mostly a white wine girl now, with the occasional "pink", as we call it, thrown in. When I can actually drink more than a glass or two here or there I may try again and see if that's changed. I miss red sangria a lot. Mostly we just drink the $2.50 stuff from TJs. I'm useless in discussions about good wine.
Chateau Saint Michelle Cabernet is my all time fav. But any Cabernet will do. I'm not big on any of the white wines except White Peach Sangria...I was a bartender for years and have a recipe for this that will knock your panties off!

I love red blends but I'm allergic to a particular grape and we have yet to figure it out. So sometimes I get really red and my throat gets super itchy when drinking a glass of wine and I have to down some benadryl. But I prefer red.

I used to really like red wines, but it's given me headaches the past few years. Kendall-jackson chardonnay is one of our regulars, and we use a variety of yellow tail for cooking/sangria.
All of it. Lol. We have a cab sav fermenting in the basement right now that we have to bottle on the weekend. It's our first batch so I'm hoping that it turns out.
I love cabs and zins, but I love trying other new wines too. We live close to Napa valley so we are lucky to be able to go wine tasting every couple of months or so.

I love Malbecs because they are a delicious balance between fruity and earthy. But H is a bar manager at a craft beer bar and has totally turned me into a beer snob recently, so I almost never drink wine anymore lol. Mmm vanilla porter
If I'm just having a glass at night, almost always white: riesling, pinot grigio or sauv blanc. But if I'm eating a steak or pasta with marinara or something that goes well with red, I'll have a pinot noir or a malbec. The only ones I ever turn down are super heavy reds (like a Tannat) or chardonnay - I hate the oak taste.
I am always get confused by wine descriptions. How do people know what earthy and oak tastes like? I just picture people chewing on trees with handfuls of dirt going, yep tastes like a Cabernet.
I can only ever identify those types of flavors if they are really strong. Like some chardonnays, its like you can taste the barrel it was in. I'm not a fan of that.

mfsunshine DO share, girl. I love your taste in wine. Chateau Ste. Michelle Cab was our wedding red and we will always have a bottle in our "collection" at home. (I say that as if wine lasts very long around these parts!)
I'm pretty equal opportunity red, white, dry, fruity. I can appreciate most. I think I like Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blancs the best.
I do love me some sparkling/champagne and port- not together, just I like them both.
