I wish I would have made it an issue before I signed it. It didn't really register as fucked up until I thought about it later.
Can you go back & question it anyways, even tho you signed it? We have gone back & made notations after the fact for our employees who had questions after
I used all my sick days last year and my fucking boss put that on my performance review. Wtf? I had surgery, and my kid had two surgeries. So...
That's such bullshit. My previous boss did that to me one time. FIL had several heart attacks and had to have a defibrillator put in and I got bronchitis twice before that. She said she would work with me and wouldn't hold it against me but come review time it was all there.
So, I applied for a job a while back at another company and a month later got the rejection email that there were more qualified candidates, blah blah blah. That's fine. But now the same job is posted again a month later. Does that mean they never found anyone but for sure don't want me...or that maybe the person they found didn't work out? Debating if it's worth taking the time to apply again.
I probably would. What's the worst that could happen, they say no? Nothing gained nothing lost b
My boss is just a terrible manager. He is a brilliant engineer who should be in charge of managing projects, not people.
Oh. I totally feel your pain.
Actually - do we work at the same company?
I just left a position with a manager like that.
I have a manager just like that too. Nice enough guy, good at what he does - not meant to be a manager. Told me in one review that I'm not cheeful enough and in the next told me how he doesn't care if coworker is unpleasant as long as she gets her job done.
I got a note yesterday saying that a kid in DD's preschool was sent home with scarlet fever. Ugh. I don't know a ton about it but it is not anormal thing right?
I mean, that sucks, and she's lacking a bit of tact. But I can see where she's coming from. I'm guessing that you'll encounter more people like her in the business world as you move along. Some people micromanage. And you, as an employee, have to adapt to your boss's style more than they need to capitulate to yours.
The rule I was always taught: Dress more like your boss and less like your coworkers
@bruxannie is my mind twin, as per.
I follow this as well! We have a pretty relaxed dress code here. A lot of my coworkers wear jeans. But my supervisor and our boss usually wear business casual, except we do jeans on Fridays. I dress like they do rather than how my coworkers dress.

Could it be possible they need multiple people for the same or similar positions? That happens in my office a lot. If it really interests you, I would say go for it. You never know!

Yep. I got told on more than one occasion that I should smile more. Like, I needed to be fake-bubbly happy and kiss my manager's ass every time I see him. Hell fucking no. That's not who I am.
The person that works next to me has been sitting in his office with the door closed for 90% of the morning... pumping up and deflating his bike tires.

LOL. At least you can feel good about Probing today.

Also...how many men do you think had that on their evaluation?
Bingo.
I kept getting mediocre reviews from that guy. Even though I busted my ass and did a ton of (amazing) work for that department.
I basically told them to kiss my ass. Not even sorry.

this is bullshit. now if this ever got put in writing, well THAT might be something I'd consider bringing to HR for discussion.
But I'd definitely weigh the pros/cons before doing so.

I can see that you need to be cheerful if you're working with customers or clients or whatever, but I don't think I need to drop what I'm doing and put on a fake smile every time you walk by my desk. It's not like I'm a total grump, I'm just not a smiley person. Plus he questioned if I liked my job because I just didn't "seem happy". This was a couple months after my m/c - which he knew about since I had to be out of work - yeah, my unhappiness wasn't really job related during that time period.
Ok, have to stop talking about work or I'll spend my lunch hour job searching again.

Oh the women in my office all had a chat with HR.
But it went no where.
We're all amazed he still has a job. They've slowly been cleaning house so we're hoping he's still on someone's shit list.

My "clients" were all in-house (company employees). They all loved me. I was honest, efficient, and didn't take shit from anyone. My former manager was just stuck in the 50s - women should be smiling and quiet.

Every time anyone talks about "Probing" all I can think about is the guy talking about being abducted by aliens in Waiting for Guffman.
"They took me off into a separate room; I seen 'em takin' different people off; different ones of us off in separate rooms and put me on a big white table and uh the guy that took me in there - to examine me I guess - he probed me and then I was in there I bet more than three or four hours, in that room, being probed and at one time or another these different ones of 'em came in, four or five or six of 'em at different times, and all of 'em probed me, uh, not all at once, you know, individually. Later on, years later, now, even still, uh, it's a funny thing - it happened on a Sunday and every Sunday about the time I was taken on board that ship I - find I have no feelings in my buttocks."

Anyone have any ideas on how to get a cat out of an air vent? We just got a new kitten last night (6ish months old) & she managed to get herself stuck in the 1 open air vent we have in the entire house. I had it covered with only a small crack opened so that heat could get out & she still wedged herself in there.
She is face up, I can barely see her nose & head. Shes hissing & growling at me & I'm afraid to reach in there & pull her out by her neck, but that may be my only option. I've left her alone all morning hoping she'd crawl out herself but she hasn't moved.

I have all these damn coupons and gift cards for Old Navy, and all I need are decent maternity pants for work, and they don't have my size in any fucking style that I would wear. So I'll probably spend all of this on my kid, and still have to spend real money somewhere else for pants. GDI Old Navy.
I had to go to court cause of an asshole supervisor putting something similar on someone's evaluation. She put something like "You missed a lot of days due to illness despite it being approved for FMLA." I told that dumb bitch she couldn't do that. I also told her a lot of her actions appeared prejudicial towards some people. She never listened. She got her ass sued. Despite, the agency backing her mostly out of concern of the payout, she will never advance any more in her work.
I know Larry happened. Please do not try to convince me otherwise. Please don't talk to me about coffee. I don't drink it. I don't caffeine. When I state my opinion, that is me chiming in on a topic. This is not me saying you suck at life if you do or feel differently. If I want to say that, I will. If I want to speak on you, I will.
