Bah, so I called for my first appointment but I got one of those 'all available schedulers are busy, leave a message with your info and we'll get back to you asap'. It's only been half an hour since I left my message, but hate waiting and not knowing. LOL
I want to know if they have room for me NOW so I can find another office... and I like knowing all the things. Would it be unreasonable for me to call again after lunch if I haven't gotten a call back?
I don't think it is unreasonable.... But then again I don't think it's unreasonable for me to call back if I haven't had a return call within an hour.... So take my advice with a grain of salt

If I wasn't at work I would have called them back already. So I'm right there with you.
o2girl Honey the chicken is amazing! Love her! Do you get fresh eggs from your chickens?
ETA: That may be a silly question!
not yet. All of my chickens are 18 weeks old so about 4 months. They should start laying around 6 months old..... We are patiently waiting on the first eggs lol
ETA: I have morning brain.... I meant to say thank you!

A call received before the office opens should be returned before lunch. A call received before lunch should be returned before close of business. Repeat for the next day. Patience.

Voice of reason. I've never heard of that but it sounds like a good rule of thumb.

Nope. Same thing happened to me. I waited til right before lunch and called back. Got an appt set up on 2nd call. Turns out the person they transferred me to the first time was out that day. She didn't end up calling me back for like 3 days or something.

I'm doing the opposite with my hair. I'm growing it long until baby comes and then chopping it all off. I found it really gets in the way when BFing. I was always finding my hairs wound around DS's fingers. It's so fun yet scary to change your hair!
Cheesecake was a terrible idea for lunch. I wasn't craving it or anything like that, but with DD, I lost the ability to eat anything sweet, so since we had it, I went with the idea that I should enjoy it while I can.
I think I want to try clean eating. I'm sick of feeling like crap because I eat crap. shadesofgold, I think you are/were doing a clean eating challenge if I remember correctly from GKU. Any tips/advice?
@aeroplaneoverthesea, sorry your not feeling well! Kind of cute about LO mimicking you.
I have terrible nausea that only improves whilst stuffing my face with carbs. Great for running an Iron Man, less great for trying to maintain a healthy pregnancy weight.
Also, my toddler has started mimicking me retching. I was dry heaving on our commute this morning and he was in the back cracking up and pretend vomiting back.
The love tit is for your toddler, not for the nausea. I'm in that boat with you.

Yep! That was me. After the initial month detox it has been easy to keep it up. My basic rules are: little to no sugar, little to no white carbs (white bread, rice, etc) and very little from a package unless it has like 5 ingredients or less that can be found in nature.
Tips: Drink sparkling water with lime or lemon when you crave a sugary drink. Get familiar with whole grains and salads. Prep lots of meals and snacks in advance so you always have what you need on hand. There are many great recipes on Pinterest!
On my first BMB we had a healthy living check in weekly. Any interest?

Also! I got a booked called What To Eat When You're Pregnant on Amazon for like $12 that gives a lot of great detailed info about nutrition at every stage on development, with a food of the week and recipes. I highly recommend it!

I know I just typed this in the open letters thread, but I wanted some input from you ladies.
So I'm looking for a specialist doctor. I did some research and this group of doctors does what I need. I left a message yesterday around this time with the shared nurse for doctors 1 and 2 of the three that apparently are accepting new patients. I haven't heard back. I left another message today for doctor 1 (the one I'm most interested in bc she has awards, etc).
Question: should I call back in a couple hours or should I leave a message on Doctor 3's machine too or should I wait for someone to call back about my two messages or what do you think I should do?
ETA: I know teraiin asked something similar, but they havent't call back by 24 hours later so...
Sammich_Cat, think of it this way.. if you have a question and have a call into your doctor's office and they don't call back within 24 hours, you're likely going to be pretty pissed. Assuming they're all competent, practicing in the specialty you need, and have no complaints against them, I'd work my way down to the 3rd doctor on the list and hope you get a better response, just to make sure you get in.
You can always cancel with them if an opening with the 1st doctor comes up.
Complete anecdote and not completely related, but we picked DD's neurologist based on education and industry reputation. But after months of dealing with unreturned phone calls and emails, and difficultly scheduling appointments, we also noticed that he was so busy he never seemed to have time to remember or refresh himself about DD, her treatment plan, etc. We ended up leaving him and going to the other neurologist in the practice (who we actually had heard a criticism about from someone she works with) and have had a much better experience. If you can't get a hold of your doctor, it doesn't matter how good they are.
