How far along are you? By us 6w4d by last period 7w4d waiting to meet with midwife to get the official change of date.
How long were you TFAS? I'd been off birth control for two months.
How old are your other children? +14m
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Super hungry all.the.time
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I want sushi!
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? I've been getting rid of a ton on stuff. We have to move stuff out of DD's new room and it's easier to make space if I get rid of things.
How long were you TFAS? July was my 2nd month off BC
How old are your other children? C turns 2 in November!
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Eerily similar experience, except that I have to time my (weekend) naps around a toddler.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DH has had a mancold all week, including an awful cough that's had me sleeping in the guest room for a few nights. I'm used to a firm mattress and we've got a pillow-top in the guest room, and my back is over it. I'd be better off sleeping on the floor!
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? We're not really doing anything until we've told our families, since we've got people in and out on a regular basis. We keep going back and forth between telling them next week after my NT scan or waiting until we get the genetic screening results.
How old are your other children? 8.5, almost 3, and 1
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Things started off differently but all my symptoms disappeared two weeks ago, so it's now similar to the other three.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I wish my 1 year old would sleep through the night so that I could as well. Little stinker wakes at least once each night.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? I've done nothing. I probably won't do anything until the anatomy scan.
How far along are you? 10w1d How long were you TFAS? 7 months How old are your other children? 2 years old and SS is 6 years old How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? I'm as tired it I'm more nauseaous than with DD. But I don't actually vomit as much if that makes sense. Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? we are putting our house on the market and buying a new one. QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? No not really. I've bought a couple cloth diapers.

How far along are you? 7w, 1d
How long were you TFAS? One month
How old are your other children? 13 months
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? So much more nauseaus. I hoped to eat better this time around, but that is not happening so far, all I can handle eating is carbs.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DH was out of town for work part of the week, I am SO happy to have him back. DD did not see him till this morning and she would not let him put her down at all. It was sweet, but a hard daycare dropoff.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? We have started looking at names, we are terrible at deciding on names, so we are starting early this time. So far there are no boys names that I am loving.

How far along are you? 7 weeks
How long were you TFAS? 10 months
How old are your other children? almost 5
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? like total crap. I didn't feel like this with my son.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? For some odd reason my MIL is totally against a girl. She keeps saying how she hopes for another boy and that its not a girl. I really dont understand. There are 6 boy grandkids. If we had a girl she would be the only one. My family on the other hand have all requested a girl.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Haven't done a thing. The babies room is currently my craft room/catch all room. It is a total mess right now, but I no desire or energy to work on cleaning it up!
How long were you TFAS? Let's just say, the women in my family are fertile myrtles
How old are your other children? 16 months
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? danenikki, I've got the opposite, more vomiting and less nausea than last time. And water makes me nauseous this time With DD, I would sit on the couch after dinner and next thing I know I'd wake up and it was 1:00 a.m. I don't even try to stay up this time, straight to bed after dinner.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? It's Friday!
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nope. All of our stuff is neutral anyway, but I'm hoping for a girl so I don't even have to buy clothes.
danenikki - GL selling your house and finding a new one! What kind of cloth diapers did you buy?
buttercup - We moved 3 times after DD was born, including once across country, so I'm painfully aware of how much stuff we have for her. It's ridiculous. How do such tiny people end up with so much stuff?!
graysweater - The stuff with your MIL would really bother me, boy grandchildren or not.
It is super weird and bothers me a lot. She will only discuss boy names too. I just don't get it at all! I am sure my H hasn't even picked up on any of it either.
How long were you TFAS? 2 months NTNP, then 2 months charting (4 total).
How old are your other children? 4 years old.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? A lot of fear. I will never feel 100% comfortable in a pregnancy again, I don't think. But, I also have a huge amount of thankfulness, which will hopefully be multiplied once we find out whether this LO is healthy.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? Nausea can go away any fucking time now. This 24/7 bullshit is getting OLD.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nothing. I can't do anything until we have results. Maybe that sounds bad, but it is what it is...
How long were you TFAS? Not trying, we had planned to wait to try until Novemberish
How old are your other children? DD is 3 in Dec
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Feeling pretty good now, the first few weeks were certainly more difficult than with DD but now it's pretty normal, few symptoms.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? NT scan next Wednesday.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Well I did buy a used carseat, I trust the seller, and then forgot I need to get it to FL. I can't do much until we go to FL. Chaos, I just try to not think too much.
ETA I refuse to buy a new infant carseat because I have one that will be in Bogota. We'll get there when LO is like 6-7 weeks old so I wanted a cheaper option for the first few weeks. This one looks nicer than our other infant seat anyways though so it might be our permanent one.
graysweater my MIL is the same way. She told us when I was pregnant with DS that she just wanted "a little DH". Good thing DS looks exactly like me
She also said that she only had her three girls cause she was trying for a boy
Mine said if you have a girl she is gonna act just like SIL (her daughter). and then said OMG that would be terrible! But why would she act like her?? Wouldn't she act like me.... since "she" is my daughter and all. Good grief!
How long were you TFAS? We got KU on our 2nd cycle.
How old are your other children? DS1 will be 3 in October and DS2 is 17 months.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Still so nauseous; I'm on meds this time because the nausea is so much worse. quietjoy, I am so jealous that your symptoms disappeared so soon!
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? Our NT scan is Wednesday, too @aest! GL!
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nothing. We have to move DS2 into DS1's room and I am TERRIFIED that no one in our house will sleep again. So we're putting that off as long as possible. As far as anything else, I need to first decide if we're finding out the sex. If we do and it's a girl, I'll be buying some girl themed stuff. If it's a boy, we've got plenty of boy stuff. We were team green with the first two, so all our baby stuff is neutral.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Still so nauseous; I'm on meds this time because the nausea is so much worse. quietjoy, I am so jealous that your symptoms disappeared so soon!
I was happy the nausea went away. The rest of it though is now playing with my mind. Four more weeks until my 1st OB appointment.
heartbot, DD & LO will share a room after LO turns between 4-6 months. Our friends did this, their kids are closer together in age than ours will be but she said it went well. The older one basically sleeps through everything. We should have a 3BR place when we get settled but we're going to have lots of visitors so I'd way rather the kids share a room and have a playroom/guest room.
Post by danenikki on Sept 11, 2015 15:10:30 GMT -5
heartbot, yes I love them with DD. I didn't start CD til she was about 8 months so I needed some smalls. They are just super trim and I love only washing the inserts ( most of the times) plus they are so cute. This is one of my favs :
How old are your other children? DD1 is 3 and DD2 is 15 months
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? I feel almost exactly the same as my pregnancies with my DDs. Just craving foods I know I shouldn't eat.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I'm excited to be able to officially share with DD1 that we're having baby. She said she really wants one for her birthday, which is at the end of March. We talk about it but to her it's just a story. We'll officially tell her after the 20 week ultrasound since she won't catch on to my growing belly.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? We've started talking to DD1 about moving downstairs. This will make room for the new baby to be upstairs by us. Other than that, we've browsed for a few things but won't need much unless this one is a boy.
We CD'd DD, ours are being shipped and so she's in diapers until she gets potty trained but we used bumGenius almost exclusively. I had a few FBs & CBs but didn't like them. Hoping they're in good enough shape to make it through another LO.
My sister and I shared a room, I'm not sure when we started but I remember even when there was an extra room at our house we shared one into middle school at least. We liked sharing a room.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Feels just like my first pregnancy with DS. I was way sicker by now with DD.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DH and I have a mini getaway planned this weekend and I'm so excited!!!
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Just brainstorming the room situation since we currently have one of each- I can't wait to know what we're having so I can decide who is LakerMama66g up with whom. DD is the better sleeper so I'm thinking about putting the baby with DS either way because he never sleeps anyway. One bedroom is significantly bigger than the other so idk if a swap will need to happen. I just want to get it all figured out!
How long were you TFAS? 17 months, 17 cycles (two benched)
How old are your other children? 2.5 years
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? My pregnancies are nearly the same, but I think that I had more time to wallow in discomfort the first time. I seem to feel better this time? My M/S went away around 8 weeks last time, and I don't seem to have nausea anymore.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I'm excited that my u/s went well yesterday. I scheduled all of my bloodwork and next u/s today. I have a feeling that it's going to fly by.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done?
No preparation yet. We have some big things sitting around the house (like a bassinet, high chair, and bouncer). We don't have any storage, so they were always in the corners of our rooms. I have a bunch of labeled clothing from DS under the bed.
How long were you TFAS? Started trying in October of last year, temping, loss in January, started trying again in March. Positive in July.
How old are your other children? Will be 4 in November. buttercup it's weird how similar our histories are. There's someone else (at least) with a similar history as well.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? Sicker this time, which is upsetting because I was pretty sick with DS too. But also reassuring. Dr recommended B6 and Unisom but I threw those up this morning too. I eat a lot of Popsicles. Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I'm working on a huge transcript project which is exhausting, but DH has been helping too and I am almost done.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nothing yet. Will probably wait until we find out what we are having. We did discuss just getting DS a new bed and reusing his crib (it's a convertible). And I've casually been scoping out double strollers.
jmc11511, and anyone else will 3+ year olds, do you think a double stroller is necessary? What strollers are you looking at?
I work so H is usually around when we are all, together. We only use the stroller for a few things now: zoo, outdoor events with lots of walking, and maybe the mall if we remember. It is not frequent. She doesn't like to walk and she is in the 3rd percentile for her age. We have two strollers already. One that came with the car seat and a jogging stroller off Craiglist. Options are using both, telling her to suck it up and walk, or stroller and carrier combo. She will be 4.5.
This might be a wait and see item.
DS1 will be 4.5, and we will definitely not have a double. We have a Cruz, and will just use the kick board -- if he wants a ride he can stand on that for a while. We also have an umbrella, so if we're going somewhere that is really a ton of walking, we have the option to bring two strollers too.

How far along are you? 11w 5d!
How long were you TFAS? About a year.
How old are your other children? DS is 13 years old.
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? I'm quite a bit older this time around so I think I definitely feel more tired, but I'm definitely more prepared.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DS gave us a list of names that he likes asked us to please not name the baby anything weird. That was very cute. Actually don't mind any of the names on his list, and I'm seriously considering using one of them is a middle name. Besides that, I had an ultrasound yesterday and baby was measuring right on track and had a heartbeat of 160.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? I've been too nauseated and exhausted to accomplish anything; it's going to be a busy second trimester!
heartbot sharing a room seems like no big deal but a bed is a bit much.
We CD'd all the time until we moved when DD was 2.5 years old. I think we used a Thirsties bamboo insert at night. DD never really seemed to pee a ton at night though so maybe a heavy wetter would have more problems. Occasionally she had a little leakage right around her front thighs but I just didn't worry about it
How far along are you? 11w1d How long were you TFAS? 10 months How old are your other children? DD is 2yr How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies? I don't even feel pregnant except being tired at night, likely because the unisom and B6 combo has helped a ton. Also, being on the GD diet means I have to eat every couple of hours so I don't start feeling like junk as often. Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I've been on the GD diet since Tuesday and have to check my glucose 4 times a day. Educator called yesterday and they've now added insulin. They confirmed I don't have type 2 which I'm really happy about, and believe me, I'm so grateful that I'm pregnant, but not feeling pregnant and having to do all this with GD just makes me feel like a pin cushion. I really want to get a Doppler and may try to find one this weekend. I want to hear LOs heartbeat.
QOTW: nothing yet. We're going to get rid of SDs bed in our third bedroom/office and get a bunk for both the girls on DDs room, but we have plenty of time and LO will be in our room for a while so I'm in no hurry. I'd love to start buying little random things but we have so much from DD that I'll only need clothes if it's a boy.

How far along are you? 10w4d
How long were you TFAS? 7 months or so?
How old are your other children? 3yrs
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? So much different. I'm starting to feel better, though! I feel like I've been less excited, but that might be because I'm much more sick, feeling fat, and have other things occupying my time
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? Getting better every day, FINALLY! Also, I know its early but I have a pooch out in front. I'm small, thin (but big butt) and have a small frame. I can't tell if I look preggly or just fat. Probably just fat.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Not much. Mostly going through old stuff to see that I'll need for maternity clothes, baby gear, etc. Got a few cheapo things off of FB online yardsales too (sit/stand stroller, looking for a toddler carrier, etc).

How far along are you? 6w6d
How long were you TFAS? We weren't. I stopped the pill and we were open to the possibility, but we were sill using condoms around ovulation. We had a condom slip and apparently that's all it took! We were planning to start trying in January, so only a few months early.
How old are your other children? 14.5 months
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? I think I feel about the same. I can't remember. My boobs hurt just as bad, nauseous, but not overwhelmingly so. I am handling this pregnancy better than my last and I think it was because I had a m/c before my last pregnancy, so I was terrified that it would happen again. Even though I know it's a possibility, I also know that I am capable of a healthy, successful pregnancy and it's helping. I still worry, but I'm allowing myself to get excited sooner.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I want cake.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nothing yet, aside from a list in my head. We don't need much. We were planning on a second and saved everything.

How far along are you? 7ish weeks
How long were you TFAS? Not long. I never had a PP period and I got Nexplanon out July 24. I then got a BFP on August 17.
How old are your other children? DS 12 months
How are you feeling compared to previous pregnancies/how are you handling things differently this time around? I feel similar to last time but more tired(probably because I have a toddler).
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? This pregnancy doesn't feel real yet to me. I keep taking tests. I am looking forward to seeing baby on US.
QOTW: Have you started prepping for baby/ies yet, and if so, what have you done? Nothing!
