My RE said no cold deli meat, unpasteurized cheese, or fish with high mercury levels. She didn't mention sushi or runny eggs, but I will probably avoid both anyway at least here in 1st tri.
Aside from Listeria, the other food borne illnesses don't affect the baby directly. It is however especially miserable to have food poisoning when you're pregnant. Plus your immune system is suppressed, so it can be easier to catch diseases.
I had a stomach virus at 37 weeks with J. That was its own special kind of hell.

Me too! I ended up in L&D because the dehydration was causing contractions. So not fun. I think I was around 35 weeks but I've blocked it out. The one OB who I thought was a total creep happened to be on duty, of course, and he was just sooooo weird. We couldn't wait to get out of there.
I still eat sushi, deli meat and soft cheeses. I don't buy sushi unless it's from a reliable restaurant, and I do buy pasteurized soft cheeses. But no, I don't sweat it if i'm at a restaurant and I eat a little bit of a soft cheese. And as for deli meat, most of the time i'll nuke it in the microwave for 30 seconds. But not always. I just stay up to date on food-born outbreaks.
