Hi ladies, how do you know if you have hg or just sever morning sickness? With my first I had morning sickness for my whole 32week pregnancy it was awful from weeks 8-15 and then became manageable. This time it started off not too bad then around 9 weeks I learned that bile can be green not just yellow/orange. I went in and got fluids but chalked it up to having caught the stomach bug that was going around. Since then I have learned if I forget my meds at night around 10am or sooner I'm down for the count. On Monday at 19 weeks I went in to get fluids because I threw up my meds an hour after taking them. I also had flu like systems the rest of the night and was throwing up green by the time 9am came around. I tested negative for the flu. My doctor mentioned that if this continues I might have to consider options of having a nurse give me fluids at home or a Zofran pump as a last resort. Every thing I've read about HG mentions a lot of weight loss but I haven't had that, I have been slow to gain though. I will ask my doctor next Monday when I see him again what what are your thought ladies? Sorry for the novel
wicked22, Sorry to hear you are having a really tough time, it sounds miserable! I hope you get some relief soon. What type of meds are you on now? Can you get the zofran fast melt tabs that just dissolve under your tongue? Are you keeping any food or drink down?
Helpher.org has a nice chart that helps explain the difference between morning sickness and HG. It sounds like it could be HG to me, but possibly a-typical?
I take dicliges at night and then I have zofran when needed. I had the dissolvables but I ran out and now I have the tiny pill. Most days I can keep food and drink down but like I said if I miss a dose of the night beds nothing stays down the next day. I've only had to get IV fluids the 2 times because it was excessive vomiting and felt like something more.

I just noticed this post, and know that I'm a week behind.
I second byjove about staying on top of your meds. If it's hard to remember to take them, set an alarm on your phone to go off at the same times every day, it's what I had to do with my first pregnancy.
How long is it between eating and taking your meds?
I got fluids 5 times during my first pregnancy, and twice during my current one. The upside of getting poked all those times, is that I know where all my good veins in my hands are, and am able to help the lab people find them when they have to do blood draws.
It depends. Im not all the hungry most night so sometimes its 4hours sometimes it 2 hours. I did run out of my med and have instead taken the correct OTC 1/2 Unisom pill with 1 50mg b6 vitamin at night and it has worked well so far. I hope it continues to work as I cant afford $30 for a 15 day supply of the meds. My OB said on Monday he thinks is was probably just a bug but isn't positive and said to just keep up on my meds and if I need further treatment will deal with it then. So basically he's keeping an open mind but not in a rush to do anything untill its necessary. Thank you ladies.
I had HG with my DD and some days I would vomit literally every 45 min all day. I had to go on IV fluids at home and have a nurse visit every day to replace my IV because my veins were just shot from dehydration.
Ask your OB about doing unisom (doxylamine) + vitamin b6...that's the only thing that helped me. It'll make you super tired, but if it gets rid of the vomiting...
