I am currently pumping 7-8 times a day and have big time supply issues (get about 18-20oz per day). I am headed into a busy interview season with lots of unavoidable air travel.
Does anyone have any tips or advice for pumping on planes or in airports? I am really intimidated by the whole ordeal but would really like to try to keep going--when I stop pumping I want it to be by choice, not by circumstances.
A lot of airports now have nursing/pumping rooms. So I'd scope those out, get a manual pump and depending on how long you'll be away for each trip, I'd even pump and dump. If it's only a day or two then get a little cooler - you will be able to bring pumped milk through airport security even without a baby.
I don't have much to add but see if your company will pay to have your milk shipped home. DH's company pays to ship a working mom's pumped milk home when they have to travel. I think it is pretty awesome and hope that more companies catch on.
