Has anyone taken their March 14 babies to the movies yet? I would guess it happens earlier if you have older kids.
I don't think I would ordinarily take her at this age, but a local theater is having a film fest for kids, 12 and under are free (adults are a buck). I thought maybe I'd take her and if she were too loud we could just leave and only lose the dollar. Just wondering how other kiddos have done at the movies.
We have not taken either child to a movie. Neither of us has wanted to bother.
My next door neighbor takes her kids to those Friday night screen things the town does for families- her daughter is only 2 mo older than my oldest- and her daughter does really well.

We have not yet. She will watch some TV but not all at once, she moves around and is playing while watching. Also we tried a family movie day the other day in our living room and even gave her her own bowl of popcorn. She sat there for about 10 minutes before she was up and all over.
Absolutely not. I haven't been myself either so there's that. I haven't taken any of my kids before ?2.5 to 3 for a kid type movie, the noise factor alone is one reason (theater's are sooooo loud).
Nope. E has no interest in TV/ipads either, which I think is great. We don't have cable, so I'm not sure if she even knows that a TV can be interesting.
I will say that I'v heard some movie theaters do mommy and me screenings during weekdays where the lights are up and the sound is lower.
Maybe when E is older, I may try one, but I don't really see a need now.
No, but I'm taking him to a friend's documentary release party next week. I imagine he'll sit still long enough to eat a few snacks and we'll be out of there in less than 10 minutes. I'll check back in next week and let you all know how it goes.
I take my answer back. I forgot that I took E to the Omni theater when her cousins were in town and we went to the Science Museum. They were showing something on whales. She ate cheerios for 10 minutes then fell asleep.
Nope. We are movie theater people and I think she's too young. She doesn't like TV enough so I think she wouldn't sit still to watch, she's into everything so she would want to walk up and down the aisle and honestly I think they are too loud.

My local theater had these but they did away with them. I totally would have taken E, especially when she was a baby, so I could get out of the house.
Based on everyone's response, I think I will skip it. E loves Bubble Guppies and Callie and will sit still for those, but they're only 30 minute shows. I'm sure she couldn't make it 2 hours at this age.
I took DD to movies when she was in her bucket seat until about 6 months (mom and baby movie days). I wouldn't even attempt it now. She rarely sits for more than 2 minutes to watch anything.
