We currently have an audio only monitor and an ibaby m3s video monitor. The ibaby works fine most of the time. It is wifi and works with an app. The app crashes and won't load at least a few times a week.
I'd love to get a non-wifi video monitor for DD2's room (due in May). Anyone have one you love? Or equally important, one that you don't love?
We have one by motorola but it isn't non-wifi. We really like it and haven't had any issues with it. We also have the Cloud Baby Monitor app. I really liked that too... never had issues with it crashing and you can download it onto 10 different devices for the price of the app.

We have the Motorola MB43 from BRU. It doesn't use wifi and so far I've been very happy with its performance. Sometimes they run sales for $50 off or you may be able to use one of their coupons.
We also have a motorola video monitor. We have had it since DD was 6 months old. We love it. Several of my friends have gotten the same or similar models and none have had complaints.
Motorola non wifi with double cameras. I love it. Great battery, kickstand, and the double cameras is awesome. We have one in nursery that never moves and one we take on weekends or over to family during day so we can watch for naps. I didn't think it was "necessary" to get the double but DH got to pick it out lol. Best decision though! Also got at BRU and it was about $50 off on sale when we got and used our completion discount from registry as PP suggested.

I have the motorola one from babies r us as well. I love it for the most part. Picture is clear, sound is good, decent range.. all in all it's a solid purchase. My only disappointment is the way you can mount the camera. I wish it had that screw space so you can screw it onto a tripod because I wanted to buy that portable flexible tripod thing that grips onto anything like a hand... but it only had the mounting where you slide it over a screw head.... not as convenient.
We just purchased a wifi camera from Amazon. It's made by Annke and you can add an app to your phone or tablet to use. My H had it set up in about 10 minutes and it was about $60. The picture is amazing, both day and night. I would totally recommend this camera.
We have a Motorola as well from buy buy baby. Haven't got to use it yet but love it already the H and I were playing with it. It's Non wifi, easy to set up, awesome picture day/night, you can push a button on the monitor to talk to baby, tells you the temp in the room. I believe it was 179$ but you can't move the camera with the monitor there is one for 250$ that has that option and some others additional bells and whistles. It was a little too high tech for me.
We have a Foscam. It works pretty well. And the price point is lower than many of the similar monitors from competitors.
Same here
Me too. My only "complaint" is that we use white noise in the nursery and that is loud enough to keep the monitor display always on. I jut turn it face down at night so that the light doesn't bother me.
Also if you choose to use a WiFi monitor please make sure that your network is properly secure. Even with a secure network, WiFi hacking was not a risk I was willing to take.

We have Infant Optics DXR-8 from Amazon. It's non-wifi and we're pretty happy with it. The only annoying thing is that wifi from inside the house can interfere with it, so it's best not to leave the video monitor too close to your phone or a laptop.
