I love my mom and can't express how grateful I am for her help but God forbid she put milk in the fridge!!!! I walk in the door and see 6oz of thawed milk on the counter and it's been out for 2.5 hours after LO drank a tiny bit.
Her response "are you afraid you're going to run out of frozen milk?" Umm no, but I don't want to be throwing out 6 oz here and 3 oz there etc. Bahhhhhhh.
.... you dont have to throw out breastmilk if its only been out 2.5 hours. It can be at room temperature 4-6 hours. Educate yourself and you'll save a lot of frustration. And milk.

I guess I was just under the impression that it needed to be refrigerated if it's been partially consumed. I always do the smell test and have not thrown any out at this point, but I guess I just feel like why not quick put it in the fridge if you can? And I think it was more her comment that frustrated me more than anything.
Please let me know if I'm wrong! I'm definitely new to the pumping/storage thing and feel like I have read up on it a LOT, but still new and learning.

So my ss just brought a 5 year old girl upstairs (they were playing out front with DH) and she introduced herself. Said she's staying with a neighbor because her mom is sick and her dad says she's crazy and calls the cops on her. She said she asked her dad not to call the cops but he won't listen. I asked if she had brothers or sisters and she said a sister who's 16 and she's really tall but she died and is in heaven now. My heart broke. This poor little girl has so much going on for 5 years old. She told my DH that her parents fight and her mom kicks her dad and she tells them to stop but they won't. I just want to cuddle her and tell her it's all ok. I could cry.
But positive note, they came in because my ss told DH he really wants his new friend to meet his step mom. I feel special.

You'll find a lot of conflicting info on this. I choose to keep it out and offer it to DD at her next feeding if its less than 3 hours.

Okay thank you! Makes me feel much better and way less frustrated
Even Blitz?!?! I can appreciate a bird from afar, such as seeing a hawk or bald eagle in nature. But I do hate most birds as well. I'm always afraid they are going to shit on me. And last year we had some fucking birds fly into the dormer of our house to nest, and we couldn't do anything about it because it is against the law to remove a birds nest when they are hatching babies - so you have to wait until they are old enough to fly out of there and then close up the area they were inhabiting.
Such bullshit. Ok bird, go ahead and destroy part of the fucking house you little asshole.
I like birds in nature as long as they stay far away from me. I'm also afraid of the poop.

It's only been 4 weeks, but I think I need to find new daycare. DS doesn't sleep during the day while he's there; he's always crying/grumpy when I pick him up; our commute is 30 min to and from home, plus 45 min to and from work for me; and bc the woman in his room at the end of the day isn't with him all day and barely speaks English, I feel like I never get a good report of what his days are like.
Anyone else finding they don't like their care situation as much as they'd hoped? What are you doing about it?
DD gave me her virus. I feel awful and I feel bad that she felt like this. Poor thing. To top it all off I'm breast feeding so there is hardly anything I can take.
