Good morning. We woke up to a layer of ice on everything, but the district didn't cancel school. At 8:50am (so past the point that kids should have been picked up by their buses) the district sent out a text that due to the ice, the buses were running 30-45 minutes behind. Great job guys! Don't get me wrong, I prefer the kids be in school, but only if you can get them there safely.
In other news, I'm starting to have a panic attack about February being around the corner. I still haven't planned anything for birthdays or Valentine's Day. Crap.
DH is terrible about dropping stuff e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. It's like he just sheds stuff throughout the day. Drives me BSC. At least I've trained him to hang his flight suit up in the laundry room and leave his boots there, too. He's always asking where stuff is because "you always move stuff around". Uhhhh, no, I put stuff back where it belongs
Arrrggh!!
Probably the #1 conversation that can be heard in the blondemum home. He's always leaving his shoes laying around the house, so I got a big basket to keep by the door just for his shoes. Do you think he ever puts them in there? Nope! Then when I do, he walks around like "where are all my shoes?!".
re: Social media, i'm cool with anyone following me on IG, just tell me who you are if your name is different than it is here. My SN is this_blondes_life
+1 I tried to use a shoe basket but, DH moved it in the spare bedroom way down the hall because that makes so much more sense than leaving it by the door?
Good luck starfisher paulheath I hope M feels better and let's you get some sleep suzyqq02 I am so sorry you are still in limbo over a diagnosis. I really hope your doctor listens to your concerns today and can help you figure out what's going on.
Dd slept pretty well last night one wake up over night and one at 7am that she went back to sleep for an hour after.
Ssh is also bad about leaving things everywhere. When he gets home from work he strips off his scrubs and I find them in the living room along with what ever late night snack he was munching on.
If you see my on IG or anything feel free to add me.
(((((@suzy))))) be persistent with all your doctors so that they don't write it off as a cold. Be honest, tell them your history, insist to be seen again when your cold is gone. I hope, though, they take you seriously today and that you get some answers.
redcoat, hugs for solidarity in the DH man cold world and about missing LO. I only get about an hour a night with X when we get home in the evening. He has been waking up earlier than normal this week and even though it's tough getting ready for work with him up I don't mind just because it means more time with him. Hope you have a better day today!
(((Hugs))) suzyqq02. I'm sorry you've been struggling and I hope it's nothing too serious. I totally understand being worried your doctor will think you're crazy and I've been there. Just keep advocating for yourself. Good luck at your appointment.
@suzyqq - I'm so sorry you're becoming a story on mystery diagnosis. That sucks and I hope someone can figure out what's going and and get you on the path to healing soon.
Add our house to the kitchen table dropzone. I'm super guilty. BUT I've made an effort to get better because DH has literally ranted and raved at me about how it's 'all my shit' on the table. Well, right now the table is covered in shit and IT'S ALL HIS!!! I'm just waiting to see how long it takes him to say something and I can tell him it's all his, and to STFU. We have a 2 story house, and there's not really any place to keep mail, etc. I made a little command station a' la pinterest, but it's all stuff attached to a wall behind a door, so the space is super limited.
The office is literally the furthest room from the door, and tbh I rarely even walk in there. I'm trying to change my habits, but I wish for storage that my home just doesn't offer.

I'm so sorry suzyqq02. Let us know when you find something out. That has to be so stressful! You'll continue to be in my thoughts.
@messytablepeople You guys are losing that competition. I just glanced up at mine and it is in really bad shape.
LO has a cough and I'm clueless about how to help. Do I give him pain meds in case his throat is hurting? He's been really fussy. Do they make baby cough syrup? This probably belongs in dumb questions.
I am also guilty of piling things on the kitchen table. It's horrible! Right now, it is covered with party things. My main problem is I don't really have places to keep odd things. Things that have a home generally get put away, but some things I like to keep handy. (Diaper bag, and my purse both have 'homes' on the table.
You need some hooks!
I do, but I also need a place to hang said hooks! Our house is small, maybe 1200sq ft upstairs (2br, 2ba) We have a walkout basement, but we rarely use it now (2'br' 1ba. 'Br' because they don't have windows, so not officially bedrooms)

I could probably give you a run for your money on the messiness. The island is straight in from the garage door, so things get piled up quickly. The kitchen table is right past that, so MH likes to sit his shoes and clothes on that table. Round the corner to the dining room and I have my cricut and tons of paper out form working on party decor.
blondemum Thank you! Us too, we only get an hour with LO during the week. I'm glad you have been getting some extra time with him in the mornings. I love it when LO wakes up earlier than usual because he's so happy in the mornings, it makes my day.
suzyqq02 major ((hugs)) to you, I hate that feeling of not knowing, I hope you get some answers at your appointment. Good luck!
suzyqq02 I'm so sorry. I'm glad things are being ruled out, however not having anything ruled in must be so frustrating! I'm sure you've mentioned this before and I'm forgetting but have they checked for Lyme disease? Please be firm with your PCP today - you need answers. Try to act as if you were speaking to the pedi about LO - you would demand attention and care right?
Thanks, that's a good analogy for me to draw!
No, I haven't been checked for Lyme, but that's definitely something to suggest. The rash doesn't look like a "typical" Lyme rash and isn't localized, but I'm willing to look at anything at this point!
tenniscourt I'm not sure if they have OTC baby cough medicine, I would ask the pharmacist. LO has prescription cough medicine, and it helped out a ton whenever he was sick. It makes them pretty drowsy.

(((Suzyqq02))) I really hope you find the answers your need. I've totally been there with hoping the Dr's don't think you're crazy. Good luck!
Ok. I really wanted to go to story time at the library today. However, I just turned on the morning news and there have been more outbreaks of measles in my state. One of which was diagnosed at the urgent care less than a mile from my house. They said they think around 1000 more people have been exposed. I'm going to call the pedi when they open because I want to get E vaccinated like right now. I'm a mess....
@jessasuarus how scary! As far as I know, no cases of measles have been reported near me...but I know that could change at any time. I said it last week in UO, but I think measles is way scarier than ebola. I do think you should be prepared for your pedi to not give the MMR early -- the timing is pretty important in terms of the next dose and school records and all that. (Which seems silly...but my pedi won't give MMR until the exact 1st bday or after.)

suzyqq02 I'm sorry, and I really hope your doctor takes you seriously. Is it someone you've seen before? I really hope they can get you some answers. ((hugs))
mamosey Do you get on the red line? I saw there was a fire/smoke on a train at quincy station that totally screwed the morning commute. Hope your day gets better!

I am figuring they won't give her the vaccine because I remember some of you had been asking, but I thought I would ask. I guess this mostly just makes my blood boil because just vaccinate your kids! Gah!
tenniscourt Do you have baby Vicks? That's what I used when DS had a cough. I'm sorry to hear about your H's job, and I hope something else comes along soon!
suzyqq02 I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your doctors can figure out what's going on, and that it's something that will go away with easy treatment. (((Hugs))), being in limbo sucks.
suzyqq02 I'm so sorry. It can be so hard to advocate for yourself, but you need to do it. I hope that this isn't something serious and that you get the answers you need.
caer UGH...that mommy blogger made my blood boil...only 800 children would die? How is that ok? That modern advancements in medicine would make Measles not so bad. The modern advancements in medicine are vaccines!!!! Why would you want to treat horrible symptoms of a disease that you could vaccinate and keep from getting to begin with. The lack of logic of these people, makes me very scared.
DH taught LO how to go up the stairs two days ago. GREAAAAT. Yesterday, I bought more baby gates.
I bought these veggie straws at Aldi. Gave them to LO for snack and he LOVES them. They are hollow, and he has also learned he can blow through them and thinks it is hilarious. Good times over here.

I don't but I can send DH out to get some when he wakes up this afternoon. (He works 3rd shift.)
iwubrory try Cerave - it's a derm-recommended, mild but heavy duty moisturizer. I use the AM version because it has SPF 30, but I also have the regular lotion and the cream on hand in case I need a thicker product. You can get it at drugstores, Target, or Amazon.
suzyqq02 - Keep being your own advocate if something doesn't feel right. You know your body better than your Drs, so you can help them when things are not normal for you. I hope the dr is able to listen to you and put things together to find the answer.
