allison7 what's stopping you from moving? You'll have the same expenses either way right? If you moved and left some furniture behind and kind of staged the old house it might show better, is that a possibility? Have you had any interest?

My insurance shipped my breast pump and it arrived today and I'm irrationally excited. Also I found out that they will cover our NIPT testing with a $100 copay so we might have a team by Christmas
I love the idea of a weekly randoms thread. I am heading back to school from the city with my students who are not even close to tired lol. It was an amazing day but I'm beat. We are breaking the news to my parents tonight because DH doesn't think he can keep it quiet and we want them to be the first to know so all kinds of excited and nervous about that.
Yayyyy for sharing your news! I am patiently waiting until Thanksgiving to tell my parents/MIL. It is SO HARD keeping secrets. I did tell my sister, so there's a chance she's already blabbed it around the family.
Haha I am glad we told them. I was nervous at first, as I'm only 2 seconds pregnant but if (God forbid) anything were to happen I'm glad they'll be there to support. My mom was hilarious - she absolutely flipped her shit. John was worried about how his family would react but his mom started crying she was so happy
The added bonus is that I don't have to worry about telling my extended family (I have 8 pairs of aunt/uncles and 40 cousins) because I'm pretty sure my grandma has that on lockdown lol
Hopefully your sister has kept it mum when is American thanksgiving?

That is so great that they were so excited!!! This is going to be the first grandchild on MHs side so I'm almost more excited to tell MIL because I think she will lose her shit! It's the 10th grandchild on my side so my mom has been very "been there, done that" about babies lately.
It's Novembrr 26. We will see if I can hold out that long!
My lab today smells like burnt cheese, but not in a good way. It is giving me the quesies.
I thought at first you meant your Labrador dog lol. I was like oh, that isn't good.
But neither is a smelly laboratory!
Ha! Sometimes I forget that we are still getting to know each other around here. Thanks for catching that. But yes, I do not have a smelly dog, but a smelly workplace.
Furnace guy just called and told MH that it's going to be $12,000 to get our gas furnace involved. FUCK THAT.
!!!! I hope you guys can find someone else!! A brand new furnace installed around here is only $5-6000 that seems a little ridiculous to me. FX it won't actually be all that much!

lovegrilledcheese, have you watched Jane the virgin? I always think of her love of grilled cheese when I see your sn.
No I haven't! I'll check it out
I watched one episode, and I know we're pregnant now, but I still have to say trigger warnings up the wahzoo. Jane accidentally gets an IUI instead of a pelvic... and of course gets knocked up despite her virgin status. I couldn't take it.

Thanks for the trigger warning! I'm still pretty sensitive to some triggers with being a PGAL and PAIF.

beebe918 and lostinfaith225 So we had a really terrible agent for the first 100 days. We recently switched agents and in the two weeks we have been with her, she brought more people through the house than the other one did the entire time they had the listing. But, the market here will be dead in December, so if it doesn't go under contract soon we will likely own this house until next May
We haven't moved for a few reasons. One, we don't want to have to move twice (once to take some of our furniture, the second time to take what we left behind to stage). I used to work at Pottery Barn, so most of my furniture is from there and even with us living here, it shows well the way it is. We also don't want to move as part of a negotiation tactic. If we weren't living here, people would know and then people tend to think you are desperate and willing to take their crazy low ball offers. As it is listed and with the upgrades we put in, we will lose 20-30k. We don't need to give anyone a reason to think they are getting something for nothing.
We know why it hasn't sold. One, the bad agent. Two, is that you can see the PA turnpike from our house. There are tons of houses up and down the turnpike and it will sell, but it takes a larger volume of people looking at it for it to happen. The other agent did such a poor job bringing in traffic that it really hurt us. Our plan sold very quickly when it was built and their are 700k+ home across the turnpike from us, but it does take a good agent who can overcome those objections.
Ray, your siggy challenge gif reminds me of the movie Thankskilling. Have you seen it? If not, you need to right meow.
Hahaha no! I'll have to YouTube that. It sounds like a doozy lol ETA I suppose I should change that now - do we plan on doing monthly siggy challenges round these parts?

Ugh that's no good is there any way to open a window or are you in an SPF/controlled environment?
Monday someone cooked maple bacon at school () it smelled wretched.
Controlled environment, but fortunately it seems to be going away. But a lot of people here eat fish for lunch so soon enough it will smell like some thing else.
