I've never taken anything except the med I've been on for the last couple years. My psych wants me to start taking Lexapro and wean off the other med. She said I should take it at "dinner time" because it can make you drowsy. I wonder how early I should take it though - I'd hate to get really drowsy before going to bed. I'm sure everyone is different but I'm interested to hear others experiences. TIA!

It is really different for each person. It didn't make me drowsy at all and I really only had side effects when I changed dosages. My mom has insomnia and found that lexapro helped her sleep. My sister had terrible side effects on it, including insomnia. So out of three immediate relatives, we literally all had different responses when it comes to sleep.
I would say start by taking it around dinner time as instructed, and see how it goes. You could always change to taking it later if it makes you too drowsy!
