My twins are 4 weeks tomorrow- I started pumping out of necessity because at 36 weeks they were just too small and couldn't latch well. I have been struggling because I feel like pumping really cuts into our bonding time. I was ready to call it quits this week because of it. So my question- I'd be a lot happier if I could just hold my babies while I pump, but the medela bottles rest on my knees- no room for babies in my lap. The 5 oz bottles are a little better but I'm wondering if anyone has found a collection bottle that's a little more ergonomic and doesn't threaten to bash my kids' heads in?
You could try collection bags. I use Kiinde bags. The only thing is that I prefer the bottles because I don't use a pumping bra so I use the bottles balanced on my legs to hold the flanges in place. However there are times that I wear a nursing sports bra and that holds the flanges in place.
