I woke up at 3 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. I felt my husband kind of move around and realized he was awake too. I don't know what the heck got into me but I asked him to dtd. I don't know if he or I were more surprised by the middle of the night attack. First time dtd in probably a month. I think it was a pleasant surprise for all! And the best part.... I fell back asleep
Way to go, mladerri and Mr. Mladerri - dtd high five for you! (does that sound creepy? it didn't sound creepy in my head, I promise.)
I only have to get through the school day today and then it will be Thanksgiving break. Woohoo! I am as mentally checked out as my students. I keep thinking about eating all the food.
I am excited to get some at home time with DH and DS. Also, my step--sister, BIL, niece and nephew are in town. We are all going to the zoo tomorrow. I'm so excited to see them.
Had my ultrasound yesterday. Little bean measuring at 8w4d. Spot on. Now the husband thinks this is more real. Now just have to decide on whether to do the nt scan or not.
I know this doesn't matter, but I'm not showing at all and have still gained 7 pounds already, what the heck?!
I'm getting coffee with a friend this morning while DH takes DS to the grocery store! Today is his last day off after his month being away, by he only has to work tomorrow then has Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving.

Totally personal question - but is it a cost issue? If you don't have to pay for it, i say hooray for an extra ultrasound!

mladerri you win the prize this morning! Isn't it strange how unpredictable libido is when you're pregnant? It's like "oh hey, I'm not horrendously nauseous and exhausted at this exact moment... Let's get it on baby!"
My dog is sick. He had me up two times Sunday night and twice last night too. Then this morning he went downstairs by himself. DH went to find him and he came walking upstairs. When I got downstairs after getting ready I found a mess on the rug. Luckily the rug cleaner we have is amazing and it all came up. Poor thing- I made him some rice so I hope that helps.

That's what i need to figure out. Cost wise it doesn't matter. It was stressful with DD because we were 1:40 chance for down's. It was stressful. They don't even offer the newer screenings at all to women who aren't AMA.
We leave for FL tomorrow morning. I should be excited, but our flight leaves at 6am which means we have to leave our house at like 4am (with a 2yo in tow). I'm hoping that the nausea isn't overwhelming at that hour and I can survive the airport and flight. I wasn't pregnant when we booked this awful time, but now I'm really regretting it. Also, Thanksgiving with the inlaws....they drive me bonkers. I'm hoping the weather makes up for the rest of it

bighair12, that does sound stressful! But did it help you feel prepared "just in case?" I've always assumed it would be better to be prepared, but I never thought about what it would be like to "maybe have to be prepared" and play the waiting game.

We opted out of it, I knew that if anything slightly worrisome came up it was going to take the excitement and joy out of the rest of the pregnancy and I would just be a bundle of nerves who was elbow deep in Dr. Google.
We knew that we would not terminate regardless of outcome. Being in the early intervention field some of my co workers were kinda shocked that we decided to opt out, as we have come across a huge range of the different genetic mutations and disorders out there. But frankly it is no one but you and your partner's decision. I decided that we could address whatever came up as needed, and just enjoy this little nugget who we struggled to get here.

I am grumpy today for some reason. Drop off was not great, and hearing DS say, "But I want you. Don't go" every morning is killing me. I can't wait for this long weekend, and I fully intend to leave by noon tomorrow to pick him up early. I also just really want chipotle but I don't think the risk is worth it, with the e. coli outbreak spreading basically everywhere, including Ohio (but not Columbus). I need a nap, a bath, and to not feel like I'm going to vomit constantly.

Good morning ladies. Is anyone else having itching boobs? I can't decide if it's dry skin or pregnancy related, either way it's awkward! I can't scratch it!!
Yes! They are getting itchier by the day! I put some lotion on which helped a little, but it is so annoying and awkward!

Have you noticed they've grown? Itching is a sign of the skin stretching. My boobs and gut have also been itching lately. And the way my clothes are fitting are proof that clearly there's been an increase in surface area.

bighair12, I know you had a stressful experience with your last NT scan and would want to avoid that.
I suppose just ask yourself if you would want to know if there was something there to be caught - no matter how reliable. If you get a 1:40 again, would it upset you the same/more?
Disclaimer: I'm a rather biased because I like the NT scan because it is a first look at your baby if you haven't had a scan before. It can also show you so many other things, like your cervix, ovaries, SCH, multiples, placenta placement (and subsequent worries or concerns with that).
I've had a friends' situation prove to be life threatening that might not have been able to have waited until the anatomy scan. I've had friends who found cervix issues and needed a cerclage that may have contributed to a full term healthy baby.
Yes the NT scan is looking for your "chances of chromosomal abnormalities" based on "soft markers" etc. but that's also just statistics and if you can separate that information for what it is, and recognize what it could mean for you, you may be more comfortable and be able to make your decision.
If not knowing will give you less stress, then do what you feel is right for you and baby.
Add me to the itchy boob club! I actually had to discretely rub a notepad against them in a meeting to get a little relief since I couldn't excuse myself. Now I have a little idea of what teenage boys must go through when they get unexpected pop-ups in the middle of class!

pbandj714, mmmm Qdoba!! There's one close by, but I already had lunch. Maybe second lunch at 3? Lol, I'm probably joking.
Everyone with itchy boobs: DS has the itchiest skin and we do Sarna lotion twice a week with cerave every night. It's the regimen his dermatologist put him on, and it really helps! The Cerave is very gentle, I think the Sarna would be fine too but I am not 100%.
