Crappy Sleeper Commiseration Group

This thread is for those of us who almost a year and a half into this still have shitty sleepers.

You people with the good sleepers are not allowed in our club. Unless you're bringing coffee, then you can come.

Seriously, is anyone else's little darling being a total jerk about sleep? Fighting naps, fighting bedtime, waking up and not wanting to go back to sleep. I've done sleep training and it works for a few days then we go back. We're also super into Mommy right now even though we're with Mommy all.day.long. so heaven forbid Daddy tries to help in the MOTN. DH has been so good about trying to assist but he gets up for work at 4:45 and has an hour+ commute so I want him to sleep and not have to either be up with the baby or listening to him CIO in the MOTN. So frustrating.

I'm still waiting for his freaking teeth to come through. I feel like we've been working on canines and molars for 6 months now and still nothing has actually cut through yet.

He just turned 16 months and I thought the next regression was 18 months so either we're early (wishful thinking) or this shit is just never going to stop!

I thought DS1 was a crappy sleeper but I know by this age he was sleeping 7-7 with no wake-ups...I miss that...

We go through periods of decent sleep and then return to the 3 wake up, up for an hour screaming nights. Usually there is some sort of cold or allergen exposure.
Usually what helps is repeating sleep training. It's hard to do through if your hub has to sleep. Can you go to a different part of the house? Or your husband sleep somewhere else?

Also, we bought a sleep sheep night light thing that he loves. He knows how to turn it on now so occasionally when he wakes up he turns it on and watches it to fall asleep.

Our biggest issue right now is the cold he has. I think he's mouth breathing so he wakes up from his mouth being dry and then wants to drink. Last night I put him down at 730. He woke up at 1030 and then 130 and was awake until 330. He was so tired. He didn't want me to hold him or put him down. It was SO frustrating!!!

I'm. So. Sorry. C has only been sleeping through the night for a month. We finally did CIO and it worked for us. We break all the rules and she sleeps with a pillow and has a blanket (crocheted) and whatever babies she wants to bring to bed that night.

I wish, but our house is tiny so there's nowhere to go to really escape the crying. Thankfully DS1 is a deep sleeper so he doesn't get woken often although last night he was in our room at 12:30 after a bad dream so I couldn't even attempt to bring the baby in our bed (if it would make a difference, usually he just rolls around and then wants to play).

DS1 finally started sleeping 7-7 consistently around 15 months after all his teeth were in and that's also when he weaned. DS2 hasn't nursed in months so no magic boob juice to put him back to sleep but I'm holding out the tiniest of hope that if the teeth ever come in, he'll sleep better. Maybe. If not, I just keep telling myself eventually he will be old enough to bribe. lol

Here here. I don't know why mine wakes the fuck up, but I'm guessing because she might get cold or just want the boob. She hates blankets on her and she sleeps in footed fleece jammies. She will sleep for several hours and then wake up for whatever reason screaming her head off. I try to let her go for awhile before rescuing her but it just pisses her off worse. Boob...ZZZzzzz...stuck in bed with me.

My bigger problem is her 3 year old brother that is still in bed with me.

Lennon gets up anywhere from 1-3 times per night and Jack gets up once. I haven't slept through the night consistently in almost 4 years. I don't know why the fuck they don't sleep but I miss it.

The girls have sucked at sleeping since we moved, they were off on before that. They sometimes stay asleep but they often wake at least once to comfort nurse... I don't know if it's the move, instilled new bad habits, our the teething... maybe all of it. I give them a few minutes to see if they self soothe but they really do. At least they go right back to sleep. I can't say as much for older DS who has been fighting bedtime, naptime, and waking at the crack of dawn telling me, "Get up momma! The sun is up!" Ugghhhh. I am not a morning person, especially with the interrupted sleep and trouble getting to sleep to begin with.

I'm in the club. We'll have a couple of weeks of decent sleep followed by a couple of weeks of utter crap sleep - it seems to go in cycles. Also still nursing...seems to be a correlation. Blah.

This is the worst club I've ever been in. DD is still waking up 1-3 times each night. Fortunately she goes back down if I nurse her (most of the time). She wakes sometimes because she lost her paci so we'll have to retrieve it for her. I'm too scared to ditch the paci though.

I usually have to let her cry for a little bit before she settles down to sleep. It usually doesn't last longer than 2 minutes.

Anyone else still dealing with a crappy sleeper? Certainly I'm not alone! Currently awake with DD. She hasn't STTN or even come close since before Christmas. My alarm will go off in an hour and fifteen minutes.

Mine was awful last week. He would be up for 2 hours at a time. I THINKKKKKKKKKKKK he may be getting more teeth finally, but I've said that 4x before and nothing popped through so WTF knows.

He's been better this week. I've started changing his diaper before I go to bed which may be helping him sleep longer in the morning? Or it's just a coincidence. Who knows.

Of course, this week DS1 has taken over as shitty sleeper. He's been up and in our room by 5 every morning this week when he normally sleeps in his own room til around 7. Last night he woke at 3 and didn't fall back asleep until close to 4:30. Which means I was also awake that whole time, then awake again when DH left a little after 5. And of course he doesn't nap, so he turns into a bear by late afternoon/evening.

I have a good night time sleeper but napping is out of the question. Her longest nap this week so far is 50 minutes...and she only takes 1 a day.
