FFTC: I'm eating a salad with feta on it for lunch. Not too worried about the soft cheese hype. Oh, and this Mt. Dew is delish.
This is me this time around. I enjoyed some summer sausage last week which I remember not eating around the holidays while pregnant with DD and I've had a couple jimmy johns as well this time.
I've been eating feta and goat cheese since day one. I just make sure it says "made with pasteurized milk". I think most are unless you pick it up at a farm stand type place. I'm not 100% but the cheeses I get at trader joes and the grocery store have all been good!
I might be making this up but I could have sworn that my doctor said that any cheeses sold commercially in the US are required by law to be pasteurized. If you're buying from a known store, you should be fine. If you're buying it locally, double check.
Which reminds me of the Greek burger I used to get all the time that was delicious...mmmm Greek burger....
I'm worried that I'm developing an ear infection which I really don't have time to deal with right now. I know I should probably go get it checked out because I tend to progress to inner ear infections pretty easily, but dammit this is terrible timing!
Thanks soultrane! My sister is the most low key bride to be, I'm lucky. She is going to have 6-8 bridesmaids (to avoid 'hurt feelings') but is going to just pick a color and let everyone pick whatever dress they want to wear as long as it's close to that color.
Sorry about the possible ear infection, definitely get it checked, but yeah, noy great timing.
I don't know about the cheese thing, I just noticed that an extra sharp cheddar cheese I get at Trader Joe's is actually raw milk which was really surprising.

Wow! I am surprised about the cheddar cheese! I never even checked that one. I'll definitely be looking more closely.
Thinking about all of you with husbands who have man colds. Those are the worst!
Had my appointment today and heard the heartbeat but it was low and slower than I remember with DD so I panicked for a bit but she said it sounded good and was in the 140s. Got a 17 week ultrasound scheduled since they didn't have 16 weeks available and one at 21 weeks.
I have a friend who's CONVINCED by the myth that girl babies heart beats faster than a boys The low aspect could also have been where baby is and how the sound waves are hitting. This LO has had some funny sounding heart beats with the Doppler - it's hard not to worry.
120-180 or something (I think!) is the normal range though!
My little sister just got engaged, we are all thrilled for them. The wedding will be in late September next year and I just found out I will be the MOH. My sister said upfront that she doesn't expect me to do anything but show up given I will have a 3 month old, which is very sweet and thoughtful. Of course I'm mainly thinking about what I will be able to wear at that point, will be good motivation to kick myself into gear post baby.
My sister is getting married in the first week of August. I have resigned myself to the multitude of family photos there will be with me looking exhausted and plump.

Invest in good makeup for the day! At my SIL's wedding, I was standing next to a tall, thin blonde and felt like a short, dumpy, postpartum blob. My makeup was killer though and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the pictures. Plus, the nursing boobs gave me a little cleavage which I'm not used to. lol
Good news is that I don't have an ear infection, just a little fluid hanging out in there. Bad news is that it's still uncomfortable and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. She said I can take some Benadryl if it gets too bad but I'm gonna call my OB in the morning to check in and get their input. Argh...
I was totally right about DH and the Snoogle by the way. I tried it out last night and liked it. Then this morning I was out of bed for a whole 30 seconds and DH was completely snoogled. I might have to get him his own.

I got my snoogle yesterday and left it on the bed when i work today, only to come home to my dog curled up on it on the bed. LOL.

My cat used mine as his bed for six months until I finally packed it away. I forgot about this until I pulled it out and realized I never cleaned the fur off of it. Oops.
DH's surgery went well, but he's pretty nauseous tonight. He said something to describe it and I was like, trust me, I know, it's how I've felt the past 3 months!

My cat found & adopted the Boppy as soon as we brought it home. He doesn't listen that my SIL just washed the cover and it's not supposed to get furry. He's super cute in it though. Oh well, will wash & hide it eventually.
soultrane sorry you're not feeling well. I hope the fluid drains very soon. My mom used to put a super hot wash cloth in a cup and put the cup over our ears. It helped relieve some of the pressure when we had an ear ache. Might help alleviate some of your pain, even if it's momentarily.
