Tinypic posting porn/do not use/broke your siggies

Guys,

We just got an official warning from proboards because someone inadvertantly posted porn when trying to use tinypic to post a HDBD photo.

Please do not use tinypic. I would suggest using photobucket or imgur. Proboards reserves the right to permanently close our forum at any time for violation of thier community guidelines. The porn is a hardline issue for them, and they could delete the past 11 months of our community at the drop of a hat.

So again, please do not use tinypic.

ETA: WE have added tinypic(dot)com to our censored word list, so if you used tinypic for your siggy images, they will no longer appear. Please use an alternate image hosting service such as flickr, imgur, or photobucket and re-upload your image.

ETA: If you're surfing through TCF and you happen to see an incident where this is happening, don't quote it. Just use the Page GMOD feature and they'll delete the offending image.

And for those of you who are using tinypic, imgur works basically the same way. The problem is that Tinypic recycles URLs, and sometimes the old images aren't cleared from the cache. So it will randomly load someone else's penis instead of your cute baby photo.

Use tapatalk for pics! It's really easy. I got the app just to upload pics. I normally use a browser when I'm on proboards.

Yes.

TO avoid that happening, we just added tinypic(dot)com to the censored word list, so it should break every image link from tinypic on the site.

I just spoke with Patrick (Clinger) and he's aware it was an honest mistake. But we're being proactive here

Doesn't surprise me, once tinypic changed my siggy to an enormous picture of armor.

I also know from experiences on other forums that PB takes this stuff super serious.

I've been using tiny pic because I'm lazy. Guess it's time to stop being lazy

They send out auto warnings when their software detects porn. They give you 48 hours to clean things up and/or explain yourself

If you google an image or gif and find one you want to use that is too big, you can also just click on the image size and it will take you to the same photo/gif but in different sizes. That way you can [usually] avoid having to take it to another site to resize.


ETA: That might be common knowledge, but it wasn't to me so just thought I'd share!

Gaaaah. I use tinypic all the time. I know they recycle urls but I was like "phsst - won't happen to me."

I hate photobucket but I'll figure out imgur. A tutorial would be great, though!

have you tried tapatalk for pictures recently? With the latest update, picture loading is much better.
