I remember... I dislike lurkers. Someone posted a comment on the hdbd and it creeped me out. I realize these are public forums but apart of me wants to think everyone here is really a pregnant mom having a baby in June and not some weirdo. Not calling that lurker in particular a weirdo, but I'm confused why you'd want to creep on other month's boards. Anyone lurk other monthly boards? If so, are you looking for more insight? The lurker on the hdbd board made me not want to post photos
I try not to post photos bc of this. And I only lurk by accident then realize nothing looks familiar and figure out I clicked may or July instead of June!
Sorry guys. I didn't mean I didn't like that one lady. I'm sure she's totally nice. It just made me realize when she posted that comment that absolutely anybody could look at these boards. Nothing bad about that lady in particular. babyzebra exactly! It's more the stranger/lurker that creeps me out. I was using that lady as an example because she is a stranger to me.
I get wanting to look at other boards to get a sense of what's coming up esp as a ftm or if you have friends on other boards. I guess I really did have a uo.
I didn't think you were mean about it. I agree that it's easy to forget these are public boards and anyone can look at them.
FWIW, I lurk a lot and I lovetit the shiiiiiit out of comments all over the place. No shame.
I lurk on May since I'm a June 1 due date so it's right ahead of me, and the loss board/GKU to check up on ladies there. I also participate on carrying a rainbow. I'm good with lurkers but wish you had to be registered somewhere with the site to lurk. It's crazy to see how many people have posted on the thread versus how many people have viewed it! I was totally a lurker on TB though (on March 14) and I benefited a lot from reading everything, I was just too overwhelmed by the drama, the drive-bys, and the amount of people to participate. I came over here and lurked for about five months, then started actively participating after my loss in May. I realize I should have started participating earlier!
It was super fun to have babyzebra and soultrane come over to this board after we checked in together weekly on loss after living children!
Now that I am "out" at work, I think it is weird how often people want to ask about how sick you are/were. It seems to be first on the "how to make conversation with a pregnant person" question list. It is one thing when women who had a rough time working with m/s in the past ask, as they know how difficult it can be and are commiserating. But otherwise I think it is odd. Do you REALLY want to know the details of my digestive goings-on? Are you sure? Because this is not normally what most people consider casual conversation.

I am a lurker by nature (which I wish didn't sound so creepy). I lurked my whole first pregnancy on Sept 13 on TB. I lurked TTGP and then GKU when I figured out where everyone went. For months. Now I check out May and look in at different boards periodically. I like seeing BFP posts and the grad thread on GKU. This is the first time I've participated. It's a different level and I wasn't expecting it to be so rewarding!
manybellsdown, I was the same way and I agree with that! I am really enjoying the community, but I still don't blame myself for lurking on TB. I probably should have started participating a year ago when everyone came over here though!
vivela, I remember getting so annoyed by the "How do you feel?" question. Especially at the end, when you want to be like, "Well, I'm 38 weeks pregnant, I can't breathe, I can't sleep, I can't sneeze without peeing myself but uh, good, I guess?" However, after I had my son, I found myself asking pregnant friends the same question! It's hard to think of better questions when asking how their pregnancy is going, haha!

I'm a lurker by nature too. I don't care if it sounds creepy! I just love reading the stories that people tell about their experiences, opinions, etc., and feel like I don't usually have anything to add. I also lurk GBCN and Reddit, but don't ever post on either of those. The good thing is that I am a totally harmless pregnant lady due in June. I'm just a nosy pregnant lady!
ETA I can totally see where you're coming from though mladerri, and I don't think your UO was mean spirited at all. You should try upping your lurking game and see how you like it!

Yes, this!
ETA... This post of mine being the definition of not having anything to add, ha.
babyzebra I'll think about it. Maybe I'm a closeted lurker. I enjoy the community of the boards and getting to know everyone as well. With ds I was looking more for answers and felt lost. This time I don't feel as big of a need to go hunting for more info. I've got all I need here on j16 manybellsdown haha you're still adding to the convo. It's like you gave babyzebra a big thumbs up! I was also sept 13 on tb and felt that board was super hard to post on. I still did but I was more of a liker because convos got heated and there were a lot of stm so i didn't feel like I was adding anything. Do you follow s13 on here?
My family does prime rib with horseradish cream for Christmas and it is just my favorite! I can't wait. I know we're supposed to eat fully cooked meat, but a slice of medium pr may be what the doctor ordered.

I've eaten so much medium-rare meat this pregnancy... (Well, not THAT much because I eat very little red meat, but you can be sure that any red meat I have eaten I did not ruin by over-cooking!!!)

Awwww. frecklesnbrains this makes me feel so good about the medium 8oz filet I consumed for dinner last night. Went to dinner with friends at a steakhouse and I refused to ruin a $42 steak by getting it well done. If it were up to me I wouldn't have picked a steakhouse in light of my current dietary restrictions, but it wasn't up to me. So for the first time this pregnancy, I had medium red meat. It was glorious. I ate every last bite! I felt a little guilty when I ordered it (and also wondered whether others at the table were silently judging me), but it was delicious.

Yeah, is it bad that I don't even think about the temperature of the meat? I don't eat red meat often anyway, but there's no way I'm asking my dad to make some well done prime rib. He would do it but not without several laments and gritting his teeth. Maybe I'll try for a medium piece instead of the usual medium rare.
On the topic of lurking, while I don't do it often (bc just keeping up on J16 is hard enough for me), I did accidentally end up on J15 once (clicked the wrong link); and I lurked their thread re: birth announcements. It startled me that the first J15 baby was actually born in April 15 and the thread continued through July 15. I know babies come on their own schedule, but I've gotten so used to this being a June baby that I hadn't even considered the fact that she might be an April or May baby instead.

I'm secretly hoping to have a May '16 baby - May 30th to be exact, as that would still be full term (39 weeks) but it's DH and my 1st wedding anniversary and also my mother's 70th birthday. Let's cram all the celebrations into one! But it's true: statistically speaking we will have some May and April babies here - possibly even March.

I'll probably end up with a May baby. My OB said that she liked to schedule c-sections for 39 weeks, so that would put me at that last week of May.

And some July babies too. I'm due the 28th so could definitely wind up in July.

Our anniversary is May 31st! I'm hoping to deliver on my EDD (6/13), or at least actually go into labor on my own. Mostly because I don't want to have to be induced again or worry about Pre-E like last time at EDD+3. I'm pretty firmly in the middle of June, so I'm really hoping for a June baby!
