So the doctor called with my results, so I don't have to go to the doctor on Monday anymore. She said that my blood work came back completely normal, so the next step is to see a hematologist. Is this normal? I thought they would suggest an RE, but a hematologist? I don't know - I'm upset that there was nothing wrong, like seriously two miscarriage in 3 months and there are no answers?
UPDATE:
So I decided to keep my appointment for today and get some answers to all of my questions. First off, I showed up and they had cancelled my appointment for me and I was super annoyed. However, the doctor still had the slot open and agreed to see me. I was utterly confused by this hematologist deal. The OB said that the blood work they did was just a CoAg(sp?) panel and looks at the most common clotting and autoimmune issues, which for me everything came back negative. The reason they are sending me to the hematologist is so that the hematologist can decide if I need anymore testing or if we should try something like blood thinners. She said basically they don't want to speak for my blood work because they don't specialize in blood and would rather have a blood doctor take it from there to be sure I got an accurate diagnosis(if there is one at all). My second question to her was why I wasn't seeing an RE instead. They seem to think that because of my age (24) and the fact that I keep getting pregnant easily just not keeping the pregnancy that I don't need to see an RE quite yet because they think the hematologist will be able to give me answers. I also asked about trying again and she said technically I can start trying whenever I want but suggested waiting to see the hematologist because she doesn't want me to have to go through another miscarriage and getting my hopes up if I do get pregnant only to miscarry again. She was very empathetic to my situation and had no problem answering any of my questions, which I really appreciated. She also put me at ease and said that once I do get pregnant again they will be monitoring me closely, so that I feel at ease and not have to be stressed out. So for now I am going with what she says and we are moving forward with the hematologist and waiting it out on the RE front. I feel better but I realized today that I am terrified of trying again and having another mc. We are definitely waiting until we see the hematologist to move on to actively TTC again.
Thanks for the well wishes and for reading the Novel I just typed!
