It just occurred to me that on Tuesday and Wednesday I have all day classes I signed up for, and pumping is going to be an issue. Attendance is pretty much mandatory and breaks are typically short to allow for leaving early. My best guess is they will last from 8:30 - 4 with a half hour lunch break. Here are my thoughts so far:
- pump right before I leave and as soon as I get home. I'm thinking that would be about 10 hrs between pumps. I went 8.5 hrs last weekend for a wedding and it wasn't terribly uncomfortable. So not impossible, but definitely not preferable.
- pump at lunch.
- talk to the instructor about what's going on and hope to be "allowed" to pump when I need to.
- in terms of where, I could pump in my car (I have an AC adapter), but it's a busy parking lot so privacy would be an issue. I could pump in the bathroom, but don't currently have a battery pack.
- in terms of how long, I normally pump for 20 minutes, but could shorten it to 10 since I get most of the milk by then.

I don't have a manual pump, but I have time to get one. Not sure about the facility specifics as I've never been there before, but I can ask around once I get there. And a nursing cover is brilliant for pumping in the car!!! This is why I love you guys...

I would definitely pump at least during lunch, even if it is only for 10 minutes. You don't want your supply to start dipping by going so long in between pumps. I pump in the car while driving home from work. I just use a nursing cover for the privacy. Also, I agree with somesay, they might have somewhere you can pump if you ask them about it. Then you could eat lunch while you pump. Good luck!
