I EP! Did it with my first two as well for a year! Your pump kinda just becomes part of life.
That's dedication! My goal is to make it 6 months of some form of breastfeeding. Any advice if I decide to EP? I already have 3 sets of pump part, use the fridge trick so I'm not washing parts all day long, and have a hands free pumping bra.
Get a car adapter. It will definitely come in handy when your out and about.

Can I get some brainstorming help? My neighbor gave birth to her first two days after me (so she's about 10d pp). She had a 3rd degree tear and her nips are hurting.
I was going to pop over and bring a small care package. But now I'm out of ideas.
1) coffee 2) nipple shields (I have two I don't use) 3) pack of tucks.
She's got dermoplast and whatever the hospital sends you home with. The boob pain is worse than the vag pain.
...? What else would've been amazing with that kind of damage ?
1) sleepy baby advice? He'll fuss and show he is hungry, then passes out after just a few minutes. I don't mind him hanging out during the day but it's frustrating at 3am BC I know it means he'll be up hungry again
2) what do you do with handsy babies? When he's upset (esp if I make him relatch due to a poor latch) he'll flail his hands around or put them in front of his mouth, which makes it even harder. I've tried swaddles, but that usually ends me back up with question 1.
Breastfeeding is physically and mentally difficult.
DD1 was really handsy while nursing and would actually shove her fingers into her latch and release it. I used a teething necklace that would give her hands something else to focus on and that helped a lot.

+1 to the soothies gel pads. Also...you/she would probably have to order this but I love the earth mama angel baby nipple butter. I haven't tried others (lanolin), but I used it with DS and use it now. Something to recommend. Use it after every single feeding. And it will get better. Soon she won't need to use anything and they won't hurt at feelings.

I don't know if you have a babies-r-us near you but they see the EMAB nipple butter in store here.
I can't wear a normal nursing tank without wearing a bra because of my gigantic boobs. It's a giant pain in the ass to have to unhook 2 clips. My favorite nursing tanks are the undercover mama tanks. You can wear a nursing bra and then there are loops that hook on to the straps of the bra.
I saw a pinterest tutorial that you can do this yourself with any cami you like, just cut the strap off at the back and then sew the strap into a little loop on the front that you hook onto your bra.
Unfortunately I haven't found a nursing bra I really like yet, so I've just been wearing my camis like normal and stretching them down/slipping off the strap.

lazyreader I was going to suggest the same things! Smoothies and EMAB butter are on my care package list every time. And snacks every mama needs snacks.

Maybe bring a little cooler of padsicles or diaper ice packs and instructions on how to make more? Though I may be late to this.

SO, my right nipple has made a recovery from the hell that was engorgement and bad latching earlier this week. My left one is on its way, but it's starting to scab a little. I can tell it's still getting better (less scabs) but it rewets everytime I feed him, which I think is slowing the healing process.
Can I peel them off? Just wait and suck it up? I'm afraid they'll take months to heal if they're getting soaked every 2 hours from feeding.

I'll admit I peeled mine with DS, but they were numerous and small. I'd be wary if they were big.

I didn't touch mine and they were healing up by the end of week 1. No touchy!

Hmmm don't know about peeling them off... I would definitely let the nip air dry in between feedings if you can. Once its dry I'd out more lanoline or nip ointment on as a moisture barrier. And the bmilk itself should help them heal.
My baby boy is pretty aggressive about latching on. He gets thrashy as he latches. It's cute/funny/terrifying.
Mine slams his head back and forth into my boob repeatedly if the first latch wasn't good and I make us re-do it. Last night, he kept sucking and popping off everywhere on my boob but the nipple. H and I were in tears we were laughing so hard.

L is my little piggy because she nuzzles and snorts. It's too adorable...most of the time.
It becomes slightly less adorable when you're up for the 5th time at 4am.. agreed (but luckily some small level of that still exists to help get through it). I am so tired.

Agreed. I think I'm starting to lose it a little with sleep deprivation. L refuses to sleep for any long period not in arms and likes to cluster feed and comfort nurse all night. Longing for the day that changes.
1. Breastfeeding can be so isolating. I'm upstairs feeding LO and can hear DS1 and DH eating French toast. There'll be some left for me, but I'll probably be eating alone.
2. Has anyone ever (with past children) "trained" their boobs to skip a feeding? I'm debating letting DH take one MOTN feed and me not getting up to pump...but I'm nervous about losing my supply or being so incredibly engorged by the next feeding. They'd get used to it eventually, right?

Jules is 11 days old and started cluster feeding last night. But then he passed out for like 5 hours after that. I hope he continues to cluster feed today to make up for lost time. Gotta make that milk!

2) yes. But not for many months. Definitely not within the first 6 weeks while your boobs are regulating. That screams engorgement. You wouldn't loose your supply, yes it would regulate. But it would be painful.
