That's how my first OB was too! Ha. He retired though and my OB now gives more recommendations. I used to work in an OB office when I was younger and all the doctors had such different guidelines, it surprised me.
This always drives me crazy. Granted, I love that my OB doesn't bother me about shit. I'd rather not pay for a doctor to harass me when I have one at home that does it for free. But some of the shit that comes out of my OBs mouth is just ridiculous. Like:
Me: So I should stop eating lunch meat and sushi? OB: Eh. If you want to. You don't have to. Me: Isn't it recommended? OB: I've seen more people get sick from cucumbers and lettuce.
Lol, he sounds very laid-back. It's the same as everyone though some people freak out about that stuff others don't. I'm surprised he's so meh about it though being a OB. You think he would at least give you a little more info about stuff when you ask!
I have a snoogle. I tend to want to roll more to my belly, which is uncomfortable now, so it keeps me propped on my side more. I basically use it like mcktymck and have to flip due to hip pain also. I sleep on my back some too. DH does complain about getting poked by my "candy cane" though.

I honestly think it's because he believes a lot of the recommendations are BS. Like you put yourself and your pregnancy more at risk getting into your car than you do having a ham sandwich. So should you never drive?
I just appreciate being talked to/treated like I'm a human being not just an incubator.

I don't know what the brand of pillow I have is, it's shaped like an upside down U? It's awesome and comfy but HOLY JAYSUS it's huge. It takes up half the king size bed.

TheTuna15 , I was told to stay away from raw meat and raw fish. Sadly there have been a lot of recalls on salad fixings lately.
I just asked my sushi place if they flash freeze their fish. They said yes, so I still get sushi. I can't get over all of the listeria/salmonella/other shit that people keep getting from lettuce, apples, Chipotle, and otherwise benign things that you would never think twice about eating. I got listeria when DD was 2 weeks old from ice cream. I felt sincerely betrayed by that one.
I am doing mine this afternoon! All I remember from doing it with DS is that the stuff tastes so fake and nasty it was hard to finish it. I am not looking forward to drinking it in the car on the way there today.
I'm jealous you get to drink it on the way there! I had to come here, get it, not even allowed to leave until finished. ..
Agreed! I won't have mine until the standard 28 weeks or whatever, but DS will have to come with me. No clue how I'm going to entertain a 2 year old during that all while I just want to spit up that gross stuff!
Sorry to everyone who's feeling yucky today, hopefully you all feel better soon.
Does anyone have the snoogle pillow? Is it worth it? I have a body pillow but it's just so large I'm wondering if I should try something else. I need comfortable sleep.
I have a Snoogle. It's...okay. I could probably have done well with a body pillow and called it good. For now. Maybe as I get bigger and less comfortable, I will like it more, hopefully.
glaze, I feel the same way as madamewaffles. I have it, and it was fine. Didn't really do any research on any other options, but I found it helped as much as it was going to when I was large and sleep was uncomfortable anyway. My H hated it though - I already take up the whole bed so this made it so much worse. He's dreading when I bring it out again!
icaughtfire , we ordered our desks from there with no problems (except for us putting together a piece on backwards)
We are struggling to potty train my 2.5 year old (really 32 months now). I just can't get myself to do one of the 3 day methods and let him run around naked...
Good luck with the potty training! I'm dreading that day. We are switching my 2 year old (28 months) to a big boy bed tonight (I'm mentally preparing myself to say bye bye to sleep), and then we will probably tackle potty training in a few months (moving in May and new baby in July and starting preschool in Sept so trying to space out all the changes). I would love for him to be potty trained by the time #2 comes along, but we shall see - not holding my breath there.
glaze a little late of a response from me but correct! I just leave it as is with the back of it butted up to the edge of the bed, and I roll from one side to the other. For me it's comfortable both ways, we'll see what happens when there's a giant belly that needs to be worked around haha

cocobellaf sorry you have to postpone your trip, but as someone who lives outside San Francisco, you will probably get better weather in Mar/Apr. We are definitely in the rainy season (annoying but we need it) so the longer you wait, the more likely you are to have sunshine!

glaze I have the snoogle this time and used a regular cheap body pillow last time. I can definitely tell the difference. The snoogle is much firmer and supports better. I am glad I have it.
Today is my husband's day off and we've had a family fun day of laziness. We went to lunch. We layed around I took an afternoon nap. I'm sitting down to watch the last hour of Making a Murderer now and I'm having lemon sorbet. This will probably be my dinner. I love days like this. They're so important to recharge.
That sugar GD drink is the worst. With DD, I had to order an alternate flavor because I am allergic to some orange dyes and I think it had a higher sugar content, so I failed the 1 hr and then had to do the 3hr. And i passed the 3hr without a problem. I do not look forward to do this all over again.

Thanks for the input, I decided I'm going to order one tomorrow!
Lazy days are the best. I'm halfway through the Making a Murderer. I can only watch so much at a time or I get obsessed and then have really messed up dreams! Do you think he did it?
rungirlrun good luck tonight with switching to the toddler bed! We switched my 2 year old to one a month ago and it went so much better then I thought it would. Hopefully it does for you too! I was mentally prepared for no sleep too!

It's possible he did but I believe he was royally screwed from the get go and evidence was tampered with for sure. I fear that the truth will never come out because that sheriff's department created a narative and erased any other evidence and planted some to be sure they'd get him. I think Brendan is a fucking tragedy who is 100% innocent and the most upsetting victim. Were the other men in that compound involved? Did there homes get searched? Her ex? her roommate? I don't know. I think the prosecution story is absurd and some stuff like the burn site is obviously just wrong. I don't wholeheartedly believe he's innocent but I have big doubts.
I also wonder how Theresa's family is handling all this. They are so sure he's guilty and it must be so upsetting to them. I hope the real truth, whatever it is, comes out for her sake.

Thanks! Love hearing positive stories about making the switch. We got his bed all set up, and he's in love. Hope that transfers over to bedtime, and he doesn't get into trouble overnight!

I didn't even think about having to entertain a kid while doing it! Not looking forward to doing it again in 3rd tri
Does your lab allow you to leave the waiting room? Mine does, and last time I spent the time wandering around the hospital gift shop and lawn and it went by fast.

Oh that's nice! I wasn't allowed to leave last time, but I've moved since so I'll definitely ask this time around. Good call! That would make it tolerable with a toddler.
Also, have any of you ever ordered from Wayfair? In my never ending search for the glider/ottoman I want that doesn't cost an arm & a leg, I found one there. The reviews are good but I've never heard of the company or ordered from them.
Late to the party on this, but it got a decent one from Amazon for pretty cheap that I have been really happy with.

It is really comfortable and it only took about 10 minutes to assemble.
ETA link and stuff
I had the exact one you linked for DD. I hated it. I thought it was so horribly uncomfortable! I swore next time around I'd go with something more cushioned. We're looking at this one:

Well, now I have glider envy. That one looks really comfortable. I thought mine would be kind of stiff, but I am surprised how squishy the cushions are. And I like that it is tall enough that I can lean my head back.

Nope. Luckily DH was there to keep me company otherwise I would have just read a book. I do hate feeling like I am wasting time. lol

We still have DS in his crib, but keep considering converting his crib to toddler bed. We probably should do it soon, since as my belly grows I will have a hard time getting him in and out of his crib.

I agree. I think that Brendan's brother and step-father had something to do with it. Everything about their stories and everything is just so sketchy. I can't say I think Steven is innocent but if he did do it there's no way he did it the way they said. That whole family seems sketchy (his brothers) it could have been anyone that's why I would like to know how much the other homes were searched as well.

I just said this to DH last night after I put DD down. It's already getting hard to lean into that rail.
