Hey, Sorry to Start a new thread for this, but my Wi-Fi isn't great here and I need help. Tumaini woke at midnight with a fever. We gave Tylenol and it got better but this morning the Tylenol doesn't seem to help, she's sweating and shivering in her sleep and has puked once. She's drinking a lot of water when awake, she was still smiling at Liam and getting mad when he tried to steal her bottle.
Liam also had a fever during the night but he's been fine since he woke, playing, smiling.
I forgot the thermometer, but she's quite warm but not crazy hot.
What do I do? Do I wake her to take her to a clinic? How long do I wait? Should I insist on her going in the pool to see if it helps? A sick toddler when you're in a foreign country is no fun/ scary as hell.

If she's still in good spirits I would keep giving the tylenol and if the fever doesn't stay down on it's own after another day I would try to get her looked at.
I would stay indoors if you suspect she's having a fever, especially since I know where you are and it's super humid/hot there. Especially since kids usually push themselves when having fun and it might end up worse.
Maybe see how she is by the afternoon early evening and then go from there. It's so hard when you are away from home. Could she have eaten something that's causing it?

She's feeling better, she's in the little covered pool, playing. We're also "lucky" since it's a cool/ cloudy/ rainy day. Let's hope she keeps getting better
It could certainly be food related, if food poisoning can cause a fever.

Thanks for the advice, it's scary having a sick toddler away from home.
Yes! She's feeling great, and for the most part is enjoying Costa Rica. But she misses home too, our family and friends, her toys, the snow... This vacation has been harder on her than I was expecting. I hope she'll mostly have happy memories.

I saw a study one time done by psychologists that you remember the end of experiences better than other parts so make the last day fun and it will kind of block out the bad ones.
