And since I'm in this thread... An update.
M has very little to no accidents at school. We are still struggling at home though. It is getting better, but I will say since he regressed at home, I have not been as consistent and focused as I should be if I really wanted this to happen. Still no poops in the potty. He will bring me a diaper and want it on before he goes. When he does I try to sit him and tell him to poop, but no Bueno. Poop is hard. I need klongoria11 's Cadence to come show M how it's done.

I think we had a pee accident this morning. Cadence's pants were damp, but she said she spilt her milk and didn't pee. I tried to smell her pants(I know, I'm gross) but they didn't smell like either. No idea. I went ahead and changed her pants just in case.
Hannah acts like she's afraid to let her pee/poop go. She says it hurts and whines/cries. When she has a diaper on she never mentions anything about it hurting so I don't think she has a UTI or anything. I think it's her way of saying she's scared. Has anyone else's toddler had his issue?

trtlcrzy, you might try distracting her with different potty songs. Cadence also likes to hear the water running or hold my hand, depending on her mood. One song she likes from one of her potty books is to the tune "I've been working on the railroad":
I can pee pee in the potty I'm a big girl now I can pee pee in the potty Let me show you how
I can pee pee in the potty Like the big kids do I can pee pee in the potty Now lets see if I can poo
Best lyrics ever? No, but she likes to sing along. We've also made up lyrics for Old MacDonald has a poop....but we're kind of weird like that.
klongoria11 the one thing that seems to relax her enough to do her business is watching YouTube on one of our phones. That's obviously not sustainable so I'm hoping book reading or something else will do the trick. I can try your potty song this afternoon.
Also, I think I might have lost my mind. I decided to try nap without a diaper since she's been holding it until she gets her diaper back on. She actually peed in the potty 2x shortly before nap so hopefully no accidents.

We have pee races in our house. Don't judge! I do this when I know she needs to go, but she is refusing. I tell her I have to go too and lets see who goes first. So we both sit in the bathroom at the same time (her on her potty, obviously) and she'll always go. She likes to win.

tgrimes1980 haha, nothing too crazy He just has a poop instead of an animal and the sounds it makes is a "flush flush". She has also started saying that when daddy pottys it is a "pst pst" sound. So we sometimes replace "Old MacDonald" with "Daddy".
This is kind of a gross/weird question. We use a small potty on the floor for Hannah. So far when she pees or poops in it, I dump it into the big potty, put a little water in, swish it around and then dump it in the potty too. Is that how everyone is cleaning their potties?

Lately B is throwing a fit when I try to get her on the potty. "No! No potty!!!" I have no idea what this is about. I need to ask DC if she's doing it there too. I feel like I'm never going to get her PT.
E insists on "peeing like daddy" so he has started standing on the step of his toilet seat to pee. He does pretty well actually.
We were doing really well for a while now he doesn't tell us when he has to go pee or poop and when asked he say "no thank you". He is doing really well at DC though. We've thought of offering an m&m or something like that if he uses the toilet.
Does anyone use training underpants? Are they with purchasing? What about the disposable ones or are those just pull-ups?
Like the Gerber ones with the extra padding? I bought some and we use them but it seems like H is more likely to have an accident in those than her normal panties.
So Col pooped on the potty out of nowhere tonight. He's never done it before but he told me quite calmly that he had just pooped. He was so matter of fact about it that I didn't believe him, LOL.

Yeah. We aren't really doing potty training yet but we do about 30min Berwyn bath and sleep in underwear do I was thinking that might help me a little with the mess.
You could try that. What I would do is just let him be naked for that time. The book I read said that wearing underwear right after diapers can be confusing because it's snug just like a diaper so they think they can just go as normal. But naked takes that snugness away and helps them to realize that they need to go to the potty.
Question: Hannah is super short, I measured her with a yard stick earlier and she is 33". She can't reach to sit on the toilet in our bathroom even with a stool and she seems to be afraid of being up on it without being able to touch. She has a little potty that she can go on her own and that seems to be working. What do you guys do for going out in public or to someone else's house? Do you have a ring seat you bring with?

He really is just interested in underwear right now and nothing else. We have had some recent freak outs about the potty in the past few weeks (thanks constipation! ) so I am trying not too push that
Oh gotcha. Yes, they will soak up the tiniest bit of pee, but when H has had accidents wearing them it still makes a mess.
I know you said you didn't want to push potty training but if he is really interested in undies you could use them as a reward.

We are using nighttime pullups, but only had leaks in the very beginning. Make sure you're taking a productive potty visit right before getting in bed.
We have used daytime pullups for bedtime when we were just trying to use them up and they work the same as the nighttimes.
Yesterday both boys followed me into the bathroom (surprise surprise) After I was finished Matthew said he wanted to go on the potty and that he had to poop so I quickly undressed him before he could change his mind and when I went to set him on it he gave me this confused look and said "I'm not sittin on there!" ugh! But at least he's starting to ask about it. Progress.
Do you have a little potty or just a ring for the big one?

For those w kids that are PT, how did you get to the point where your kid will actually tell you they have to go? I just can't seem to get B there! She will always willingly go to the potty and almost always does something. But no matter how many times I've explained it to her, she will not tell me if she has to go. No problem telling me after the fact.
yummeecookee Mara just did it on her own. The weekend we began potty training she was telling me when she had to poop. A few weeks later she'd tell me when she needed to pee. She's pretty good at holding it so I still occasionally make her go to the potty, if it's been awhile.
yummeecookee It's awesome that she'll pretty much go on command!
B just started telling us the first day we started official PT (this was only a couple weekends ago). Maybe we lucked out in this respect. I still ask him to use the potty every so often if he hasn't asked in a while, and I always make him go before we leave the house or a place with a decent bathroom. I'm sure it will 'click' for your B soon.
FWIW, not sure what 'method', if any, you used, but we kept B pant-less for the first couple days, and I think that really helped him figure it out. He got in the habit of telling us from that--one accident was enough for him to realize pee dripping down your leg isn't fun. We also kept the potty in our living room the first few days so he could use it on his own. (When I initially experimented with PT a couple months ago, I had him in a pull-up or underwear and he would not tell me he needed to go).
@sing2phins pooping is the hardest! Have you tried only rewarding poops in the potty? Cadence would get mini m&ms, but only for successful potty poops. You might also talk to her about it and let her know she doesn't get to wear her special big girl panties if she keeps getting them dirty.
