QOTW: Favorite movie of all time!
*** Disclaimer for the thread: While we grow, if you ever want a separate check-in, then PLEASE just ask, happy to separate!! I know that there are times when TTC that can be rough to read the pregnancy/parenting posts so I want to be respectful if people want some separation. Feel free to PM me directly if you want me to just start one or start one if your comfy doing so! Also, if you have a BFP, please create a new thread to announce so we can all celebrate with you! Let’s face it, a BFP deserves its own announcement anyway!***
TTC here- so based on my LMP I should starting AF next week & preping for IUI, but I have no idea what's going on with my cycle or what to expect at this point...
Tmi warning- I'm 3 weeks in & still have a light period. And I'm on birth control again & it's still going. It's just all so weird... I'm ready for it to end!
QOTW: picking one is hard! But I think Princess Bride is probably my go-to movie the most!
Olivia is 6 months now. We are finally making headway on the sleeping issues. I decided to try her on her belly after fighting for 90 min to get her to sleep. She was asleep nearly instantly! The next obstacle will be getting her stay in her crib but I am thrilled with this development.
We go for her 6 month appt Thursday and we are vaccinating on schedule. I'm a little leary of the flu shot on top of all that. She really doesn't go out that much. We have a nanny at home so no daycare. I also wouldn't want her to get sick of course.
We are discussing TTC for #2 in a few months (3-6) but M hasn't gotten her period yet after delivering so not sure where that leaves us. I'm excited though because I really do want another baby!
I have been able to consistently get my workouts in and am super stoked about that.
I could do without all of the snow falling right now! More shoveling in my future.
M is almost 21 months and is so much fun. She is finally sleeping decently. If you don't know me - she has never slept thru the night and for about 19 or 20 months woke up extremely upset in the motn a lot and had what appeared to be major anxiety at bed time. Naps were no better.
Now she wakes up once just to call for us and be sure we are close and is back to sleep quick. Bed time and nap time are no longer a battle- usually. Still sleep much less than most kids her age.
But she is so dang smart. Starting to say some sentences and always on top of everything going on around her. She is just so funny. She is also sweet and loves her baby dolls.
On the TTC front- have first apt with an RE on thurs after 5 bfns with unmonitored iuis. So we will see where that leads!
Stringy- glad you're also getting more sleep! Sounds like its been a restful week for this board! Hope the RE can help give you some answers this week, GL!
29 weeks along and feeling exhausted but grateful.
Also, I just did our taxes, and we're expecting a substantial refund this year! Putting most of that aside and maybe using some of it to purchase more sperm to keep on ice for baby #2. Feeling a bit less stressed money-wise about TTC our second next spring (15-ish months from now). DW will hopefully carry the second.
R is 11 months and hit a huge milestone last week; he discovered his penis in the bath. Now that he found it, he hasn't stop yanking on it. That poor thing has got to be hurting him. I feel like this is a true milestone that needs to go in the baby book! We have been sleep training for the past 2 weeks with little luck. He is sleeping in his crib but waking up 4-5 times at night. He is lucky he's so darn cute cause otherwise....
As for baby Moka, I'm 10 weeks 4 days. We had our first MW appt last week. It was a very long appt at 3 hours. R was with us and he was so patient but towards the end I was the one getting cranky. I still have the SCH that they are watching. It's really starting to piss me off and I hope by the next u/s on Feb 25 it's either shrunk or gone. Otherwise baby looks great.
QOTW: Well, it has to be Rudy, since that's our sons namesake. After 12 IUI's and 3 IVF cycles that movie was our inspiration.
manada and I are 9 weeks today. Our next ultrasound is a week from tomorrow. Last week's at 8w1d went very well. Rocky 3 is growing right on track with a strong heartbeat and my uterine bleed has shrunk.
I'm feeling emotional (crying at work again--thank goodness my office mate is travelling this week so I can just close my door to cry). And tired. The nausea hasn't been too bad the last few days as long as I keep eating.
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.

That is so frustrating!! I hope you get some (good) answers soon.

karlamo - I laughed out loud at R's new discovery!
We just got back from a wonderful, warm, and restful vacation. I'm on the Weight Watchers bandwagon for the next 2 months. Due to travel we've got booked and work schedules, we're likely looking at an April or even May IVF cycle. I hate that it keeps getting pushed back, but I'm rolling with it.
Favorite movie: I love Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I could watch that a hundred times and not be sick of it.

Vacation sounds wonderful! Sorry to hear about the moving IVF schedule hopefully time passes quickly!

It sucks when it gets pushed back but we just did one that was cutting it close to Christmas travel and I was a ball of nerves with not only doing the transfer but then we were traveling while still measuring betas. While it all worked out I prefer cycles were we have no other distractions going on.
Like karlamo and healz413 I'm feeling cranky and weepy. Just found out my maternity leave is actually unpaid for four weeks out of ten, so we're out almost $3,000. So long, tax money. Easy come easy go, I guess... WHY does making babies this way have to cost so much damn money?

I'm sorry about the unpaid leave! I hate maternity care in the us.. We really need to step it up as a country it's pitiful!

PJ&Z are at 6 weeks, and have started getting crankier. I was home with them yesterday a.m., and I thought I was going to go crazy b/c Z wouldn't stop crying unless I was holding her. I know we've been spoiled with them, but it's still frustrating.
In addition, we are trying to get them to sleep more, but they just wake up at 11 and 3 no matter what we do.

I have 12 weeks unpaid leave that we are saving up for. Babies don't come cheap that's for sure!

You poor thing. I can't imagine having 2 high needs babies. R was exactly like this from 4-11 weeks old. It's both emotionally and physically draining. We did A LOT of baby wearing around our house because he wouldn't let us put him down without screaming.

Hang in there it does get better!
Thanks! They aren't high needs all the time, but have just started for a little bit, and only Z. K came home and laughed at me for being exasperated after a morning alone, given that she's been doing it for weeks now.

WOW! I thought I posted here but I didn't.
We got a BFN on Monday so we're back at it this cycle. I'm CD3 today and was at the RE this morning. I have 20 antral follicles and a small cyst on the right side (which seems to happen every other month....weird.) Just picked up my Clomid and I'll be taking it from CD3-7.
Hope everybody had a great week!
QOTW: Kill Bill, Mean Girls, American History X (I couldn't decide)
New here. **loss** We are taking a break after losing our twins to PPROM at 17 weeks last month (and 6 months prior lost a little girl at 12 weeks due to SCH). I carried both pregnancies. Both pregnancies were from IVF (I guess you could say we are "lucky" because we had two otherwise normal pregnancies from 3 IVFs, and our last IVF was the only one that resulted in frozen embryos). ***
We have 3 embryos remaining which we think we might try to use (one at a dang time, this time!) in about 5 months. We have to decide whether to put them in me (36 yo), or in my wife (44 yo). We are thinking it might be time to bring in the "back up goalie". We are also almost finished with the process of getting licensed as foster parents (we took a break when we found out I was carrying twins, but we planning on continuing if I had a singleton). We are hoping to get a call soon!
For now we are having tasty alcoholic beverages in our hot tub, neither of which I have been able to do for much of the past two years while trying to conceive.
*** losses mentioned
6 ICI at home
5 IUI
5 IUI with clomid
IVF #1 - loss at 12 weeks due to SCH
IVF #2 - negative
IVF #3 - twin loss at 17 weeks due to PPROM
