I'm home from work again today. T's hasn't kept anything down since yesterday. I'm waiting on the pedi to call me back. If I don't hear soon I'm just going to go to the ER.
So sorry he is so sick poor baby. Hope the pedi calls you soon.

How long has G been on her meds? A few days right? @giamia923
She had her first dose on Monday so today is day 4... she is supposed to take it for 9 days and if she doesn't do better we are to take her back in. she still has her cough too.
This is exactly was I is going through. Have you tried Motrin or Tylenol? I started his antibiotic on Sunday and yesterday was really starting to act like himself again.

@adulruna and N40Mom - I hope your LOs start getting better soon. Stomach bugs are the worst. Good luck at the ER @adulruna. That is so heartbreaking.
@giamia923 - I hope G's ear is just still healing from the antibiotics. I have heard that it can take a while for them to heal. We always have to go back to the pedi 2 weeks later for them to check and make sure it is healed up and sometimes there is still fluid in there.
Ok now I am spiraling about language and talking again. someone mentioned over on A14 that by 18 months they should have ~50 words, wut? Nowhere near that unless she turns into a chatty cathy in a month's time.

That seems crazy to me. I don't really feel like G has learned many new words since the 15 mo appt and is not using them much. He does seem to understand more words though so I don't know if I need to be worried or not.

Oh dear, you guys. We canNOT have an S14 compound until all of these littles learn how to get healthy and stay healthy. That would be a barfy, snotty, poopy disaster.

I actually talked to the speech therapist at Hs school (we went up there to see H) and she seemed to think he was doing ok. I can't remember everything she said but basically she noticed that he was pointing at things and was listening to another teacher show him something and said that those are good. She didn't say anything about how many words or anything. I mean he "talks" all of the time. I just do t understand what he is saying. He could be saying 5000 words and I just can't equate them to actual words. I did notice that he makes a monkey noise for monkey and I have been looking for something that sounds like "monkey" so maybe I just suck at understanding him. Lol.
So, he's up and looks infinitely better. He's actually eating right now and everything looks okay. I'm going to give it an hour if everything stays down we might be good?
When you feed him, make sure you're giving him BRAT foods. With the apple sauce, I'd only do one bit every few minutes. Same with water... tiny sips.
We never took L to the doctors when she had a stomach bug a few weeks ago, because she didn't have a fever. Then again she seemed better within 24 hours. Honestly, there's not much they can do if it's a bug.
But I totally understand your concern about dehydration. When you feed him, make sure you're giving him BRAT foods. With the apple sauce, I'd only do one bit every few minutes. Same with water... tiny sips. Too much too fast will cause the puking.

I think that is a bit much. DS can under stand a lot of words. He says several but not consistently. And it is possible for them to just all of a sudden start using several words, sometimes overnight.

Thanks, sorry to keep bringing this up but when someone mentioned that and said the guidelines had changed i started worrying. I will mention it to her dr when we go next month. Thanks for talking me down AGAIN ladies
Thanks N40Mom, yes it sounds like language is so widely varied but the poster said she was a speech therapist and that guidelines had changed and most pedi's weren't aware. I'm going to just let it go for now. She clearly understands words and points and is probably fine but I just got myself in a tizzy
@100poppies, thanks, its helpful to hear everyone's experiences. Yes I'm really needing to just focus on what she understands right now which is quite alot. She knows and points to all body parts but is only saying a few words actual words and animal sounds. They will get there!

anniebn , if I were you I would focus on the lack of experience part and not the personality. His personality might not be a good fit for you, but could be great elsewhere. So I would leave it at something along the lines of, "We appreciated you being interested in the position and taking the time to interview with us. We had a large number of candidates that applied for the position and the search committee chose a candidate that had the background and experience that best fit the position."
You can't help if someone else is better qualified.
This is very well written N40Mom. I would be no good at responding to a question like that.
