We have been talking about M14s second bday in a few different threads so I thought I would create a separate thread.
1. Theme 2. Location 3. Size/guest list 4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? 5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? 6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc)
1. Theme Probably none; some color of plates and napkins maybe Paw Patrol 2. Location Park; meet at pavilions for snacks and cake; play on playground 3. Size/guest list Probably 5 kids besides Levi 4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? Very simple; nugget tray, veggie/fruit tray and cake 5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? H is building a playhouse with sand pit 6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc) not concrete but probably 11 or 11:30 opps edit to add No party favors
Ordering nugget tray but I'll throw together an easy fruit and veggie platter together myself(probably add cheese too). Really it's about $, time, and Levi not even knowing what the hell a birthday is. For his first we had all the family over for lunch and I'm not EVER doing that again. (We have a huge family; my h has 8 siblings...)
1. Theme: Minnie Mouse 2. Location: our house 3. Size/guest list: Inviting 19 people. 4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? Buying prepared food from either BJs or chick fil a. Minnie cake will be from BJs. 5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? Basketball hoop, art easel, Minnie swimsuit and flip flops, a few books, a few arts & crafts 6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc) I think 5-7. No party favors.
As far as drinks...is anyone providing alcohol if it's at your house?
1. Minnie Mouse 2. Our house 3. Just family. So 8 adults and 4 other kids 4. Sandwiches from a local Italian deli. Buying all the food since we'll have a 2 week old. Usually I make everything, but definitely don't think I'll want to do that with a newborn. Cake from a local bakery. 5. A lot of coloring, markers, stamps stuff to help keep her busy. An outdoor playhouse. 6. Time will probably be around lunch. It'll interfere with nap but my parents have to get on a plane very early the next morning.
We'll have drinks and will be providing them. Probably just beer and wine. If someone wants something else, they can raid the liquor cabinet.
2. Location I'm trying to decide between a park pavilion with an adjacent toddler playground or a indoor space like the Little Gym. Late March/early April weather can go either way around here.
3. Size/guest list The other 9 kids from his daycare class and their parents and siblings
4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? It will probably be in the middle of the afternoon, so we'll do some snacks and cake.
5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? A tiny rocker/recliner if we can find one we agree on, some summer clothes, and maybe some outdoor toys.
6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc) I'm not a fan of favors, but we'll wait and see what the social norm for that is around here. He's the youngest kid in his room but they are all clustered within three months of each other, so we'll have a few opportunities to see what the other families do.
Oh, and he's getting a special shirt from Accents by Aggie

1. Theme: Star Wars (kind of)
2. Location: ILs house because all our family lives in that area
3. Size/guest list: 15-20 (counting us)
4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making?: unsure on this still, probably a fruit and veggie tray for sure, I'm thinking maybe a taco bar or burgers and brats/hot dogs
5. What gifts are you getting for your LO?: A few new pieces of clothing since he's growing so fast.
6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc): No party favors here, maybe when we start having parties where kids are involved but right now it's all family and he's the only kid.
Theme: book/library, making Disney book invitations. Will post a few pictures once they are finished
Location: children's museum
Size: 14 kids + few adults without kids
Food/drink: pizza sticks and "stack of 3 books" cake
Gifts: books, requesting books in lieu of toys from guests
Party favours: crayon rolls with blank note pads, small coloring book, may be some book worms (gummy worms). SIL is doing a story time -I found some book shaped pillows for the kids to sit on

1) Paw Patrol 2) Our house 3) I'm guessing probably about 30 people including about 5 kids 4) I'm not sure yet. We usually order pizza from our local family owned and then I may make some sides. Or I like the chic fil a idea! 5) Melissa & Doug safari toy and the pizza puzzle. I think we are also getting her some books and stickers too. 6) I'm only doing favors for the kids. Since we are doing Paw patrol I'm going to have little stuffed dogs with a sign that says adopt a puppy.

1. Theme: Home (Boov)
2. Location: our home
3. Size/guest list: We are doing my BFs immediate family (6 people), my dad and sister, and my BFs cousin, gf, and their two kids. 12 total with 2 kids (3 and 1 yr)
4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making?: I'm making most of it. We haven't decided on pizza or lasagna yet - both are DDs favorites. I'm making a cake I found on Pinterest. Say tuned for one of those funny Pinterest fail pics! Haha.
5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? We are getting a play kitchen. If anyone asks what to get her well say supplies for her kitchen or dress up clothes.
6. Other things: are party favours necessary for adults to a kids party? I want to make a little bag for the two kids coming and DS. Is that weird? Also, what could you put in a little bag for a 3 year, 1 year , 6 month old?
Eta: now that I've read through. We are offering wine and beer to family. Not a huge selection. We will also pop champagne but that's more for the first gathering in our new home than for DDs bday.
Finished the invitations. Each card has a corresponding envelope. Made some for both girls and boys. They turned out real cute. The invitations for the adults will just have a generic happy birthday and balloons on the front with the same print on the inside. May also add happy birthday stickers to the front of all of them. (Hope the picture works)

OMG these look amazing!! I wish I was that crafty!! I also love the build a library idea!! We have so many books already though so I was thinking of maybe doing "arts and crafts" because he's getting into those and we don't have a ton of supplies yet.
No one has rsvp'd to the invites! I wish my friends were type A like me. Party is on the 5th so I might start texting people this weekend to find out if they are coming. I need to know so I can order food.

1. Theme: No theme, but her cupcakes will me Minnie Mouse 2. Location: our house 3. Size/guest list: just grandparents, aunts/uncles, so about 14 4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? We're going to just order pizza. I got a new stand mixer so I am going to make her cupcakes 5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? Haven't decided yet. We really need to go light though, with birthdays being not long after Christmas, our house is exploding with toys. I've even toyed with not getting her anything, but I am not sure I can do that 6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc) No decorations, favors, etc. We did the big party for the first, this time will just be family, food, and cupcakes
1. Theme Minnie 2. Location My house 3. Size/guest list We have a huge family so like 40 people. Not enough room for all her little friends but kinda think she's too young for a separate friends party. But we'll see. 4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making? Making meatballs and chicken broccoli ziti Alfredo. Buying cold cuts, rolls, chips and dips, cake. 5. What gifts are you getting for your LO? I dunno yet. She just got so much for Christmas and will probably get a lot because the family is so big. I'd like to get her outside climbing structure. 6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc) we bought all the Minnie plates and decorations from a party store. But she really likes the other Mickey characters so I wanna print them and put them on some colored paper to decorate also.
Last weekend J went to his first birthday party. They had it at the Little Gym. About half the kids from his daycare class were there with 1 or 2 parents, plus a couple of siblings. All in all it went pretty well. Now we just need to make a decision about where to have it.

+1 exactly. Our party is the same day as well
I texted people today. I just couldn't wait. I'm such a planner.

I'm in the same boat and our party is also the 5th.
I'm having some *kindof last min theme second guessing. DD is now obsessed with minions to the point she mimics them and says her little french "Min-yawn". I may have to change the theme I think shed light up to see a minion cake and decorations.
3. Size/guest list-20 to 25 people. Mostly family and a few close friends.
4. What food/drinks are you having? Buying or making?-I'm thinking pulled pork sliders, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, some sort of green salad. For dessert we will do cow pies (brownies), mini pie on a stick and some bundt cake bites from 'Nothing Bundt Cakes'. I really want to make a small rooster cake for DS but we shall see.
5. What gifts are you getting for your LO?-Not sure yet, maybe a mini trampoline.
6. Other things I forgot/misc (time, party favors, etc)-For favors I'm going to do small terra cotta pots with a bag of potting soil and a packet of seeds.
