Hi girl, I remember you. I am sorry you are coming back under such stressful terms. I think you should go with your gut and have your meds reevaluated. it couldn't hurt. Maybe you can have a friend or YH go with you to the appt. I understand the stigma aspect but your wellbeing for yourself and your family is much more important than some stupid label.
Thanks ladies . @wallflwr926 my family doctor is. I don't have coverage for anything else unless I go through Emerg and say I'm having a crises.
icequeen I remember you too! DD has an appointment on Thursday with the same doctor so I am going to try and have the courage to bring it up.
It's so stupid. I have encouraged several other people to get help and I never think of them as being weak or a bad parent, but when it comes to myself I feel like both of those apply.
I'm so sorry that you have shitty mental health coverage.

Definitely not a bad parent nor weak. I fall into a habit of thinking that way myself but it takes a lot more courage to speak up about it than to sit there and struggle in silence. I am certain that your family doctor has been exposed to similar cases like yours and will know what to do. At least you know you tried and believe me, you are not the first or last person to bring it up!
Hi @alleykat05, I remember you. I agree you should go with your gut and talk to your doctor about trying something else. Is there any way you could afford therapy? Even just a few session might be really helpful, especially for the scary thoughts. You are not weak or a bad parent, you are strong for reaching out and a great parent for trying to get better. We're here for you whenever you need us.
Hi, I am newish around here, so I doubt you'll remember me. I just want to send you some courage to bring up your meds when you see your doctor tomorrow. It never hurts to get them reevaluated if they don't seem to be working for you. Taking care of your mental health and speaking up is strong and good parenting. GL tomorrow!
@alleykat05 I'm so glad your doctor got you that referral, and so sorry your H was upset by it. My H was a bit resistant to me getting help at first too. It sucks, but there are a lot of misconceptions out there about mental health that take time to correct. I hope he comes around as he sees you improving. You're right, you need to do this for yourself. Good for you for being strong. We're here to support you even if your H isn't.
That is frustrating @alleykat05. Keep being the squeaky wheel until you get the help you need. If it seems to be going nowhere, is there another avenue you could try?
