Things started out pretty slow, but they're picking up. 4 hours after the cytotec was placed, I was only 1 cm, but contracting frequently and not a candidate for another dose. They placed a foley bulb to help dilate and it fell out at around 7 am (PST), meaning I was about 3 cm. Pitocin was started a couple of hours later. My water broke on its own about 2 hours ago and I now have an epidural. Ahh, sweet relief.
Update: At 6 pm on 2/3, I was 6 cm dilated, fully effaced and +1 station. We were told it could be 6-8 hours before delivery time. At 8, the baby started having some HR drops and my nurse started me on oxygen. I thought I felt some pressure towards my bottom, but didn't think much of it as I wasn't expecting to be that far. The doctor checked me and I was almost fully dilated, except for a little lip left, but baby was sunny side up. The HR stabilized after turning from side to side a few times. We couldn't believe that I was almost ready to push. We tried putting me in on hands and knees to hopefully get the baby to rotate and put pressure on my cervix I'm the right spot. It didn't work, so they upped the pitocin some more. By 11, there were no changes. The doctor said we could try hands and knees again and hope it worked this time or go straight for a CS. We tried 40 more minutes of hands and knees and it worked! I was so close to having a CS after laboring for so long.
After 2 hours of pushing and 28 total hours of labor, our baby was born! Team green turned team blue. Here's Myles, born on 2/4 at 2:01 am, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and 19.5 inches long.
ETA: I can't add a photo right now on mobile.
