Kid 1 was born at 40w6d (c-section after a failed induction) Kid 2 was born at 41w4d Kid 3 was born at 40w Kid 4 was born at 40w
This time, I will most likely be induced due to a super quick labor and birth last time, although we haven't discussed how early yet; I'm guessing not more than a week before my due date.
DS was born at 38w4d. He measured big my whole pregnancy and was 8lbs 1 oz at birth. This baby is already measuring 3 days ahead. So assuming that is accurate and not error on the tech's part, then I'm thinking this one may be big too and come a little early. My only hope is that my actual labour is shorter.
My oldest two both measured big throughout my pregnancies, and were 10lb 1oz and 9lb 3oz when they came 6-11 days after their due dates (although since you have a history of an earlier start to labor, you may get your wish regardless).
DS was born 40w4d via induction and was 8lbs 2 oz. My body had made literally zero progress (dilation/effacement) beforehand, but the actual induction and labor went really quickly.
I think this baby will probably also go down full term or more, and I wouldn't be surprised if I have another induction. LOL.

39 weeks exactly.
sweetmelissa5, I haven't had my first appointment yet, but is induction common if the previous labor and delivery was fast? I went from 1.5 cm dilated to a baby in 3.5 hours. I gave birth 6 minutes after arriving to the hospital (they sent me home earlier since I was only at 1.5). I'd love to not go through that again, but I also have a fear of being induced. Obviously I'll talk to my Dr next week, but I'm curious,
I have no clue what will happen this time around and seeing how our family is 2 days drive away there some stress there. (like are they going to try and be here for a month before my due date??)
With DS I was induced after a NST on my due date showed my BP was elevated. They started Cervadil overnight, Pitocin at 8 a.m. the next day, and he was born at 8:16 a.m. at 40+2, after 5 hours of pushing. He was 8 lbs 5 oz.
I would really, really like to go into labor naturally this time. I had some kinda scary complications after DS was born, which were largely due to how long I pushed. Hoping my BP will cooperate.

I don't know if it will be true for every doctor, but in my case, it seems as though they would definitely prefer it (and since I'm on board, there's no problem there. In my case, they were still checking me into my room when everything went down, and the doctor didn't even get to the room in time (LO was delivered by one of the nurses). Of course, things are a little more complicated for me since I had a c-section with my first and am still technically considered a VBAC candidate, so that might limit what interventions they're willing to do.

Big babies! I had bi-weekly scans (due to my health issues) and based on the rate he was growing we were estimating he would have been over 9lbs if he had made it to 40 weeks.
Luckily, my kids have gotten progressively smaller, with kid 3 being 8lb 12oz and kid 4 7lb 12oz, so at least I'm probably not going to be birthing any 12 pounders at any point.
She came after 5 hours of hard pushing in various places around my house. She was finally born with me in a squatting position after being stuck under my pelvis-I'm very petite. My MW thinks this next birth will be much easier and I hope she's right!

40w 4 days and he was 7lb 11oz. I think my body was holding on until my favorite doctor was on call. I hope to go past my due date since it's also my son's bday...but not too far since my bday is a week later. Since I obviously have a say in all of this!
My son was born at 36 + 6. Since he was one day shy of 37 weeks he was treated and documented as a premie.
Up until my water broke unexpectedly I was having no symptoms of labor. I had thought i would be late. I never even felt Braxton hicks.
I'm not really sure what to expect this time. II do have a lot more anxiety this time around of all of the "what ifs". Things I never even thought about with my first.
I hope to deliver close to my due date. Selfishly the timing of the 12 weeks off at that point would be ideal.
I went to 38w4d and labor started naturally. I had convinced myself I would be late, so I was a little surprised. Now I know I'm going to expect early again, and that would be ok! I just hope and pray every day that I don't have the same tearing!
E came at 39w4d and I went into labor naturally. I was convinced I'd be late since he was my first.
I'd like to go into labor naturally this time too and wouldn't mind being right on my due date or just a few days before. Those last few days are so uncomfortable so the idea of going past 40w doesn't sound very appealing.

38w5d (C/S after a failed 3 day induction)
I have chronic hypertension, so my entire third tri, I was in and out of the hospital 9 times before they finally decided to induce me. We were trying to hold out as long as possible because my OB guessed that an induction would not work for me, due to an unusual cervix position. (It bends at a 90 degree angle and makes it so contractions don't work the same to dilate me.) She was right, after a gruesome 67 hours of induction and strong contractions every 2-3 minutes for that ENTIRE time, we ended up doing a c/s.
I haven't decided what my plan is yet. Possible RCS. We shall see.

It was not delightful. With DS, my birthday was 11/29, due date was 11/30. I was so, so hopeful he'd come that weekend. I remember crying the night of the 30th because I was still pregnant. Silly, but true.

I'm right there with you on the tearing. It was almost 4 weeks before I could sit normally. Hopefully, that won't happen this time.
I kind of expect I will tear again right along the old one. Is that dumb? I'm not sure why I think this but I do.

L was born at 41w1d. I was induced. I might have gone into labor naturally if I'd waited another few days, but I didn't want to be in the hospital on my birthday.
I'm hoping to go into labor naturally, but I'd be happy to have the same thing with this one. I had a magical unicorn induction with L. 12 hours total, no epidural, 15min of pushing.
Mostly I am with hangry and want to not tear as much/at all. Not sure that's possible as I feel much like dashook in that I assume I'll tear in exactly the same way I did with L. Ouch.
My daughter was born at 39w6d, she was my little peanut at 5 lbs 15 oz and 19 inches long. I went into labor naturally which I hope will be the case with this baby too.
So as a FTM, enlighten me - why would or wouldn't someone want an induction? I don't think I'll have that option but I want to learn.
Well most prefer to let their bodies do it's thing rather than have help from drugs also generally an induction is said to be more painful and longer than natural labor. I am not sure how much scientific proof there is behind that but that is a lot of it.
Me? I like the idea of a planned birth especially having a child at home already but even a scheduled induction/ c section may not happen these babies do what they want.
starbuck27 You're definitely not offending me! Although I'm sure you are also saying that in case you're offending anyone else. But no not me. I would LOVE to do as natural birth as possible, I always dreamed of it just as a personal thing. I just don't know if I'll have the chance with twins, we'll see.
My mom asked me if I would take an epidural etc, she did not have one with us/her kids (there's 6 of us) but each of my sisters have when they've given birth so I think she's just interested to hear. I'd prefer to use more meditative and deep breathing types of pain management but again I'm not sure if I'll need to have a C section due to baby's positions etc.
Edit bc goal really isn't the right word I'm looking for. I want to see/feel my body's amazing capabilities, not a goal but an interest.
starbuck27 I have the same 'crunchy' ideas about birth, and I think as long as there is no judgement from either side and we all agree that Mom and baby's lives are the top priority, we're (general we) all good.
I raise a glass to that!!! No judgement whatsoever and safety is DEF the top priority !!

I would love to have as natural of a birth as possible but I'm not going to rule out meds if I need them. My mom had 5 of us without any meds so I think that's pretty badass.
kleigh I agree with what other ladies have said about the induction process and pros/cons.
I was nervous about mine b/c you do hear "horror stories", but my doctor felt like we needed to help DS along. It was actually the easiest thing ever, and for an induction, pretty short. (From pitocin to baby...about 7 hours, with only 20 min. of pushing). I did not start feeling contractions until about 2 hours before DS was born, got an epidural a half-hour later, and 90 minutes later...baby! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I felt like my body knew what to do, it just needed a shove in the right direction
