Woven wrap peeps - what carries other than FWCC are good for kiddos our age? Soon I will be able to venture into the realm of back carries too, can't wait!
I need to know this too. I just found Cari Slings wraps and am saving allllll my monies to get one.
blackbird that tula is freaking gorgeous I'm jealous. I have campy which is cute but I'd love that one lol.
If I thought H would ever possibly use the carrier, I would have gone with something more neutral like Archer. But I know he won't so I got something I adore.

I am drooling over the Soul Surfer Tula right now. I could really use a second SSC. I always forget my Beco in my car or at my mom's house when I need it somewhere else. Maybe for Christmas....

I wish K tolerated being worn longer then 15 minutes. She'll start doing this arching kick back thing where she tries to slide out of the sling, so I end up having to take her out. But god forbid I put her down at that point.

I remember that being pretty typical of DD1 around this age. I think it is just a phase! Keep trying!
Now that DD2 can sit unassisted I can do back carries which are THE BEST. Talk about hands free.

I have a ring sling so I need to find out if I can do those with it.

Some people do, but those are very experienced baby wearers. She might like a wrap or an ssc. She is more secure so she can't wiggle out. Also, it can be more comfortable for long term wearing. W only tolerates the RS for short term wearing. He prefers a wrap or an ssc for anything longer.

I have a boba and she can't stand it. She HATES not being able to see. I only do a hip or kangaroo carry in the ring sling because of this. Im hesitant to drop money on another wrap given K's attitude toward them.

Do you have a BWI group near you or a local BW group? You can try out different types of wraps/carriers before you buy. This could help you and her figure out what you like. W loves our gauze woven wrap, it's secure, cool, and colorful. You cam also look into a front carry ssc, like Ergo 360. She could see and you would be more comfy. There is a babywearing on a budget group on fb. The max things sell for $100.

I tried to go to one when I was on maternity leave. They had moved the group and didn't update their webpage so I had gone all the way there only to be turned away. they only meet 2x a month here on the weekends and it's about 40 minutes away. I haven't had the ability to make it there.
The ring sling I have was made by my aunt out of a woven tablecloth. It's a beautiful gray and black brocade fabric. I do like wearing it. I think K isn't a huge fan because it requires her to be still.
V is so tiny she still can't sit in the SSC without a rolled blanket underneath, so I haven't even bothered with back carry yet.
Same with J. I have a Beco Soleil and she still needs the blanket tucked under her.
I'm a part of a wrap chat on FB and many of the women say they turned to wovens because their babies were smaller. I guess since wovens are more customizable it doesn't matter the size of the kid.
Many of them use the same wrap for their infants that they use for their toddlers/preschoolers (different times of course).

W is the same. In the wrap or ssc, he can kick and move a bit more and still be secure. Check FB to see if you have a local BW group.
