Because I had GD we had to check her blood sugars too and during that time I was told not to let her go more than 3 hours. Once they didn't have to be checked anymore they told me to feed on demand, 8-12 times per day.
jags8 I took my bra off to take a shower and had to dash and jump in the shower because I started leaking everywhere. Breast milk is all over me all the time!
DH and I were laughing yesterday cuz he was holding DS in bed while I showered. He started fussing to be fed right when I got out, and wham! Right boob started leaking uncontrollably! I was like "make him stop crying! I need to put on underwear!!" It was funny!

Growth spurt at 5 days? We have been feeding hourly all afternoon and night.
She is ahead of the game as she was already back at birth weight at 4 days old!
DS was the same! Started at 8lb9oz, down to 8lb1oz, and at his weight check at 4 days he was back up to 8lb8oz! I think he is going to be my chunky monkey I'm interested to see what he will be at later today at 9 days. He only eats for 10-15 minutes every 3 hours or so, but he is a very efficient eater.

Oh my dear God. DH's snoring is going to be the death of me. Do those stupid nasal strips actually work? Because he's keeping me up and I think he's starting to wake R.
DH and I have not been sleeping together since the first night we brought DS home. He sleeps in our room, and DS and I are in the living room. I actually love sleeping on the couch. Between DH's snoring and the fact that he can sleep right through DS fussing/crying...it makes me want to smother DH with a pillow. So it's just better this way.
gooselover2012 definitely don't worry if your LO is done in 10-15 minutes. DS is super efficient and gulps down 2.5 oz in 10 minutes (we did the before and after weighing).

Similar to C and I, I go to bed with LO in our room but once she wakes up we move to the living room. I LOVE the couch. C sleeps through everything and hearing her snore while I'm up makes me feel irrationally ragey.
Ugh, DS did not sleep as well as normal. I'm exhausted. He just woke me up now with tons of fussing and grunting...he was working on getting a bunch of loud farts out! It was amusing but I'm too exhausted to laugh. Now he's snuggled in my arms asleep again. Can someone hold me back to sleep? ?
shananagins, I didn't snore but DH said I breathed like an angry dragon. The nasal strips worked for me. DH rarely snores but if he does I put pressure on his leg to try and get him to turn on his side. If it keeps going I wake him up because I cannot handle snoring.

I totally manipulate him into positions so he stops! The snoring just drives me to drink. Seriously investing in these strips for the sake of my (remaining) sleep!
Can I go here at 11:30 pm if it feels like the MOTN?
I went to bed at 8:45 and it's now 10:45, so it's totally the MOTN.
I'm so pumped. Yesterday (today?...Tuesday) DS had his 1-week appt. He is up to 9lb now, so passed his birth weight. His ped said I don't have to wake him up to nurse every 3 hours at night anymore! We can start the transition into getting him used to night vs day. We just finished nursing so let's see how long he will let me sleep...

So exciting! Keep us posted on how long he goes!
He only went 3 hours on his own now. But I think he was more fussy cuz he really needed to poop, cuz he barely ate 5 minutes. Apparantly he can only poop in my arms haha!
Lo just woke me up after sleeping for 2 hours on her own in the bassinet. First time this has happened in the the 12-6 time frame since we left the hospital. She's so active at night and just wants to be held constantly so big win for us!
I definitely consider anything after I have gone to sleep "MOTN"
LO nurses so much yesterday. My app said she was at the breast for 186 minutes which is the most of any one day so far. I was really engorged at this feeding and leaked so much. Hoping she doesn't apit up all this milk before she goes back to sleep.

For those of you that read my whining in the feeding questions thread, R breastfed at 5;30 when I offered like he'd never stopped. Win! Zero idea of what was different and not sure he'll continue, but I was so excited I almost cried! The only thing we've changed is that any pumped breast milk or supplemental formula comes to him via a slow flow nipple now, so he sort of has to work hard no matter what He's also been sleeping for almost four hours now. Double win! Despite him partying it up during his witching hour (12-1:30), I'm calling our first night home a success!
DS has been so fussy this afternoon/evening! And of course DH was working all day and night. When he got home we sanitized some bottles so he can feed DS for the first time (I've been EBF). I love that kid but omg I need a break. So DH is downstairs with him and I'm upstairs in bed. Except I have a ton of anxiety about DH not waking up to DS crying, or somehow screwing up how to do the milk. So I can't even fall asleep anyway.
