Rant ahead...
I'm pissed. My team is supposed to be going to Minnesota in a couple weeks to visit out client and I'm being told there's no way to bill our flights directly to my company. The flight is pushing $1K after taxes and fees and I'm apparently expected to put it on my personal credit card, then get reimbursed. Hotel too which I'm not happy about, but I'm more pissed about the $1K flight.
Seriously?? How the hell does a GLOBAL company this size not have the ability to be direct billed when we book flights through their designated travel agent. Fucking bullshit.
Already too late to really even fight it this time too because the client already thinks I'm coming on this trip, but I'm making it damn clear if they ever want me to make another visit to this client they need to figure this shit out first because I'm not paying up front again.
My last job gave company credit cards to their INTERNS for fucks sake to prevent things like this from happening. And I can't get a flight direct billed here as a manager...
LadyNymeria I'd be mad too, that is pretty shitty. I mean what if somebody in your spot didn't have that much left on their credit card? That shouldn't be something that they have to share with their employer. Hopefully there's not a delay in getting your money back!!
On a side note, I used to live in St. Paul. Where are you going? Where are you staying?

Right by there! Hotel is going to be in the Bloomington/Eagan area so just south of St Paul. Last time I was out there for a visit the hotel was right across from the Mall of America.

My Grandma used to live right in that exact area in Bloomington. Hopefully you get some time for fun!

Unfortunately nope. Fly in Wednesday night just early enough for dinner and back to the hotel. Meetings and client dinner all day Thursday then flying out first thing Friday morning to come home.
To add even more annoyance Delta has all their aisle and window seats marked off as "preferred" seating costing an extra $29 each direction!! Nothing like being in the middle seat while pregnant...
I left a message for my ob since I've had a lot of lower back and tummy pain for the past couple days. It almost feels like a contraction but it extends above where my uterus is, and doesn't come and go. The pain has been bad enough to keep me from sleeping. I feel stupid calling and like they're going to just tell me to take it easy. Oh well, better to double check before the weekend!
Never feel stupid for calling! Better safe than sorry! I would have called too!

LadyNymeria, do you want me to book it for you and you can pay me back when you get reimbursed?
Thanks! but I ended up booking already. I just plan to have a chat with my boss's boss about the process because he's at an executive mgmt level that could actually do something about it. He really likes me so if I bring it up right to him he may be able to do something about it before a next trip.
LadyNymeria That's crazy. My husband has to book stuff and then is reimbursed as well, but it's not usually more than a couple hundred. That's just crazy to expect of your employees. Hopefully they reimburse you quickly. They should at least pay the extra amount for the window seat.
I had planned to expense the company for the extra cost but I was hoping for an aisle so I could go pee at will but there weren't any left.
I don't like McDonald's, for the most part. But, I wanted iced tea on the way home from jury duty on Tuesday (my group was dismissed! Yay!) So I stopped at McDonald's to get a large iced tea. I ended up getting the 2 cheeseburger combo with large fries and the iced tea. Oops lol. It sounded good, and baby liked it lol. I did share some with my 16 month old when I got to my mom's lol.
Ha! During pregnancy, all bets are off when it comes to cravings!
True story! I don't eat Taco Bell when I'm not pregnant, but guess who's been craving nachos?
Taco Johns, however, I will always eat. Not that we have one here. *sigh*

LadyNymeria that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! You'd think the travel agent would have a CC on file or the company would have a card to use for things like this. I hope you get reimbursed soon!
flyakite I hope it goes away and ends up being nothing! Maybe just really bad gas?
Ok I'm totally late but I thought of an FFFC: Lately my mom has been saying/texting "our baby boy" when referring to DS and its kinda bothering me and pissing me off. For example, "I have lunch here for our baby boy". He's my baby and her grandson. Not her baby. Maybe it's just the hormones, idk.

I think that would annoy me too serendipity731. Your DS is not HER boy. Her grandbaby, yes, but he's your baby not "our" baby. Not sure there's an easy way to shut that down though...

Thank you for the reassurance. No, there definitely isn't, especially with her. She's super sensitive and tends to overreact. I just have to let this one go and bitch to you guys about it!

That's what we're here for! Well, until I go to bed in a few minutes anyway, lol.
serendipity731 my Mil does this and it drives me INSANE! I've kindly asked her to stop several times and she still does it just to irritate me. He's my baby not yours. People think I'm over reacting but I don't care. That's how I feel, stop claiming my kid as yours!

I'm late responding but this drives me crazy and it is with my own mother. She keeps referring to the baby as "my baby." We had to do IVF to get this baby so it is super sensitive for me and I've actually threatened to punch her in the face if she doesn't stop.
PS. I would never punch my mom in the face but she knows I mean business if I say that. I blame pregnancy hormones.
