So for those of you not on Facebook, we got our first shipment of TCF swag today. We purchased them primarily for Jackie Green (from our surrogacy chat) to distribute on her pageant circuit. But it appears that people want to purchase them.
Due to the amount of time I know it will take to do all of this, our thought is to sell a 5 pack (one of each color) for a set price, including shipping.
Just trying to get a feel on what people think would be a reasonable price to pay if they were to purchase a set.

5 years TTC 2 c/p's 2 failed IUIs/1 cancelled IVF 1 failed IVF 1 failed FET BFP 12/1/15. We said goodbye to Tiny 1/4/16 Fresh cycle #3 2/16 8R/7M/5F BFP 5/12/16 We said goodbye to flutter on 5/27 and poprock on 5/28 BFP 8/30/16 We said goodbye to Samuel 10/3 (Trisomy 16) Moving on to Donor Embryos BFP 12/20/16 We said goodbye to Turtle 12/30
That way it pays for post and the envelope also. I understand why you would want to do just 5 packs. This would be easier than doing less and having people get picky about colors.
Where's the $0 option? How much would you pay me to wear that, is a better question??
I feel like $$ would've have been better well spent on a pen or something useful. No one wears those things, they end up in the trash, and usually it's to raise awareness and money for charity... i.e. "Autism Speaks" "March of Dimes". Not for use to promote business. Seeing thencomesfamily.com on a pen, that we use every single day, might prompt me to check out the website. Seeing some rando person wearing a bracelet that promotes a website will not make me go there. If I receive a bracelet for free as swag at a conference, honestly, they go in the trash never to be remembered again. I'm just being honest here, But from a business standpoint I think it's dumb. You may not like it, but I don't care at this point.

We purchased them specifically at the request of someone who is promoting TCF. We asked her what sort of swag she wanted to hand out, and this was her choice. Since quantity pricing was available, it made sense to order more than Jackie originally requested since it was so little cost, and we assumed we would use the leftovers as one option (of several) for giveaways at conventions this fall.
We didn't anticipate the deluge of messages we received asking where people could buy them. But we did. So we are happy to oblige

I'm seriously curious as to how many a deluge of women wanting these bracelets messaged you with. Like to my mind that would have to be a MASSIVE amount...like in the hundreds. If that was the case, then good for you I guess. But I highly doubt that.
If it was such little cost to you guys, then you should try to sell as many as you can, while making a small profit. Usually you do some deal like, $1 a piece, and if you buy more then 5 for $4? Since they are so little cost to you, shipping included, you would prob still make the Money back.

You mean TRY to check out the website, right?
Because, you know, it still isn't live yet.
But we have SWAG guise.
You do know you get there faster if you put the cart in front of the horse, RIGHT?!!!!!
Also after closer reading....... Are Pageant Moms now our target audience?? I honestly don't see how giving Honey Boo Boo's mom a bunch of bracelets is going to benefit anything. Why waste the money?

At the conferences I attend people go BSC for FREE pens and bags. If it has to be purchased it doesn't move off tables because I work in social services where we get paid crap. I always remember the agencies with good pens; and bonus points for sturdy tote bags, how else am I going to carry my groceries in from the store.

Good pens and non-shitty grocery totes are both on the order list- we didn't want to order the pens too far in advance because nobody wants pens with shit ink.

I think the biggest issue here is that promotional ideas started off on the wrong lucky sock.
I personally won't ever wear one of these bracelets because they are uncomfortable to me. What other ideas are being passed around to promote the site? What type of assistance is still needed to get the site going? You have a huge pool of people with useful skills. You just need to actively recruit them. I bet many of them will happily volunteer their time.

Maybe the money spent on swag should have been spent on someone to build a website. Maybe this place should be more than a ProBoards message board before you try to market it.
I love the people I've met here, but if this was back in 2013 when I stumbled upon TheBump and I had the option of TheBump, a well known highly advertised website or TCF, a kind of "mom&pops" message board...I can pretty much guarantee I would not have wound up here.

I agree with this. I wound up on TheBump because I had an account from TK. It was the next logical step.
Ah when the good discussions start the thread is no longer stickied....
And if you want more true answers, possibly the sticky should stay up thru Monday for all the people who only check this site while they are at work?
The only reason any of those type of rubber bracelets are in my home is cause my youngest went thru a phase where he wanted a bracelet in every color so he'd pick them up at free booths. He never wore them though.

The thread was unstuck last night before I went to bed, after we had an adequate amount of poll responses. People get salty when there are too many announced threads, and as the cost of bracelets are not a life-or-death matter, I removed the announcement.

Right now, we're looking into small advertising options, expos, and partnerships, provided that it feels like the right option for our growth. We don't want to randomly partner with, like, an enema company. Even if we are all assholes.
I love the idea of recruiting members! Mostly what we need is content, honestly. Hard to have a website without articles. I've called for submissions before, but I'll be glad to do so again. If anyone is interested in writing an article or several articles, that would be an amazing help! Op-eds, science, experiential. Whatever you can think of, I'd love to see it. Message me if you're up for it, anyone. Seriously. Anyone. Message me. Content. We need.

I talked to you guys before about writing an article, but I have concerns about my real name being attached to it. That has been a huge concern for me and the main reason nothing has been sent to you.

Ok, good. Because at the time we talked there was some hesitation about publishing articles written anonymously.
