The doctor gave me the ok to give Max Benadryl for his congestion because he is 6 months old. I may try it tonight because he really needs to be able to breathe.
Not gunna lie, I'm a bit jealous of the amazing sleep you may potentially get tonight from giving LO Benadryl. But really though, I hope he feels better!
I was eating a chocolate chip granola bar while holding DS in my lap. I saw a brown smudge on his leg, ran my finger across it and put it my mouth. Only afterwards was I like, "Whoa, that was a gamble." I cant do that shiz all willy nilly now. I forgot I had a poop machine sitting in my lap. :/

Once I had my dog with me at my sister's house and she got ahold of something so I scooped it out of her mouth and sniffed it because I couldn't tell what it was. Turns out my nephew had pooped out of his pull-up and the dog found it.

There was no good sleep to be jealous of. Both my kids woke up screaming at the exact same time a little before midnight and came in my bed.

Awe, I'm sorry. I feel your pain. We made it to 1040 before LO migrated into our bed.
I understand anonymity but I wish I knew all your real names. Sometimes it makes me angry that I don't.
That sounded super stalkerish and creepy.
If I told you my first name you could facebook it and you would automatically know which one is me lol. I hate it. I wish I had a common name.
Mine isn't super common but add in my last name and there's only one of me in this world. Though I do like my first name. Actually, one of our A14 ladies has a LO named the same thing and it makes me smile each time I saw her siggie.
I also might have a number of friends or family members on here because they also had August babies. I like a little anonymity but I also really like you A14 ladies. It's a weird torn feeling that I never have felt before with a forum.
ETA: I just found my one and only pee stick (we had a beta test so I just did it to pee on something) but I'm not grossed out. I didn't know it got swept into a drawer!
And I agree with you @lemonpielover. Sometimes as parents we put too much time and energy into stuff that doesn't really matter. I have to have reality checks with myself to make sure I'm not making stuff harder than it needs to be. Like… I often wish I would have waited for 6mos to introduce solids. But LO is enjoying eating, especially at DC, so I'm just letting it go.
I read this and think about how I miss uninterrupted with bathroom time with no small children needing me. Then I remember that I was a teacher. I never had this. It only existed in my mind and I still miss it somehow.
I've taken to screaming I've got diarrhea on the daily to hubby so I can have alone time every day. Yesterday he goes to me , you've had it all this week
I am a FTM, and yes, parenting is HARD. But, I think some people make this momming thing way harder than it has to be. I care about my child's health and development, but I'm not going to obsess over what she eats, how much she eats, organic, non-organic, processed, what have you. I'm not going obsess over how much she sleeps, if I'm buying the right toys, if she watches TV, what kind of TV she watches......
(Shit, my dad gave me Mountain Dew and BBQ ribs before I was 2, and I lived to tell about it.
I'd much rather enjoy the time I get to spend with her, teach her to be a good person, and adjust everything else when the pediatricians tell me to. People need to stop being trendy with their babies and just go with the flow.
My dad used to give me those huge deli pickles when I was teething. I still really love pickles...
So my parents were super strict with us about junk food. We RARELY had anything sugary/cookies/soda. So when we did have junk food available (like at birthday parties), we went nuts and binged. (SO not healthy) I think they got lazy because after us oldest were off at college, they had dinners made of strawberry shortcake.
I feel like there is a good moderation point where my kids won't binge but also won't only eat junk food- right? I mean, please tell me this is the case.

Honestly I'm not a big sweets person. I get my moods but if you offer me a slice of birthday cake or a heaping pile of broccoli and cauliflower covered in melted cheese.... I'm goin' for the veggies.

See, that's me as an adult… but as a kid and teen, I was like gimme all the crap (except cake, I've never been big on cake) each time my parents turned their heads. It's fine to me in moderation, just not all the time.
I am side eyeing all you adults who are claiming to GENUINELY prefer a pile of steamed veggies over chocolate.
ETA: I feel like you are hiding some sort of "I like eating paper" issue.....
I frickin' love me some roasted brussels sprouts. Or kale chips. Or grilled asparagus with parmesan sprinkle. They are crisp, fresh, and flavorful. Yum. But I also don't dislike sweets, I just prefer savory and/or cheesy.
You won't find me on "My Strange Addiction" anytime soon, girl. I promise you that.

The key element in this statement seems to be getting overlooked. This is the whole reason that I'm on board with this.

Cheese belongs on about 95% of foods in the world. Very few exceptions.
