kimmerz424, different pedis seem to have different opinions on this. Mine is very hands off and laid back, others not so much. Also, I believe the ladies in Canada have different recommendations than those of us in the States.
For me, I decided to start the transition a few weeks early because I want to break up with my pump. However, I only pump one bottle a day and nurse the rest of the time so we're still talking only a few ounces of WCM and the rest being BM. I won't be dropping any nursing sessions for WCM until after LO's birthday.

kimmerz424 my LO had GERD and had been seeing a GI doc since she was 7 weeks old. He specifically wanted to see her transitioned by 1yo because he suspected that would help her grow completely out of her intolerances. He was right!

Interesting, I just find it odd that that was like his one solid no, besides honey. I broke up with the pump long ago, so I am in no hurry to transition other than formula is expensive. Not sure where to go, wait till one year appointment? Try sooner? Call and ask for more specifics?

Hi everyone, LO turned 1 yesterday and we are starting the transition to WCM. I didn't know the Canadian recommendations are different, so interesting.Up until this week my LO has been nursing at wake up, 4pm and bedtime and getting a bottle of pumped milk while I'm at work. He is with my mom during the day so she is going to start mixing WCM into his bottle. I am going to keep nursing him for a little bit but I figure on the weekends I will give him a straw sippy cup of milk for that mid day feeding. I don't want to do a bottle because he's not used to getting bottles from me so I'd rather just go straight to sippy cup. However, he is in a phase where water, milk, whatever it is- he will drink a little and then spit it out. I think he thinks it's funny despite my saying "no." Any tips for this?
