So I had a baby! DS was born 4/30 at 4:39am. 7 lbs, 9 oz, 20 inches.
Labor was awful. I went in planning another med free birth, which I got, but in the end it was not by choice.
Labor was a lot harder this time. I started contractions around 8pm, and by 9pm they were 3.5 minutes apart. I never got a break, they only got closer together, and I had back labor again the whole time. He was sunny side. After my water was accidentally broken contractions were unbearable. I asked for an epi, but it was 3am (the anastesiolist had to be called in and did not make it in time) and I had him at 4:30 am so I never got it. He was having heart decels at the end which resulted in me getting an episiotomy to get him out fast. I aldo tore pretty badly on top of that. Recovery from that has been the hardest. But I do feel good other than the lady parts.
DS is doing great. He is nursing well. DD has so far been interested but not upset. Her cousins are staying with us till Thursday and have kept her distracted. We will see how it goes when they leave.

Congratulations, Courtniko! So happy for you to have a healthy little boy! Super sorry about the lady bits. Hopefully recovery goes ok and you have some time to take it easy.
Congrats! I hope you recover quickly! If I remember correctly your DD is still nursing? If so, how is it going tandem nursing? If I forgot and she's weaned then nevermind!
We actually stopped nursing 3 months ago. I went on a 2 week work trip out of town, and was pretty much already dried up from the pregnancy. She had been down to 1 to 2 times a day, so it was pretty easy weaning. She only asked to nurse a couple times once I got back, and was never upset when I said no.

Ah, got it! I thought you might be tandem nursing and was curious how it was going! I never planned to personally but DD seems to be in no hurry to stop nursing and we're TTC... I'm hoping I will just dry up once I get KU but I have a feeling it's going to be a disaster no matter how it happens
I honestly just let things play out. I had no intention of weaning, but not sure I was up for tandem nursing. When I began drying up from pregnancy it just kind of became a natural weaning, she started nursing less and less on her own. It also got her sleeping through the night with no effort on our part. I was surprised how easy it was, but it was also gradual. Good luck getting KU!
