Ugh I'm sorry mcktymck hopefully you guys can work something out/he can realize he's being unrealistic
littlesthobo we are unionized. They know I can't be working, it's board policy that no matter how far along you are, or whether or not the student is in your class, you are moved to another school until there is no more risk of 5ths no Dr note required. not sure why she was such an idiot about it.
Any who, apparently the kids rash has spread to his chest and arms so is not sounding like 5ths, but his doc said "without a blood test I can't definitively rule it out". Either way, it's the principle of the situation. I have the right to be informed of workplace hazards. I was not informed of this potential hazard. And it really bothers me that she kept playing it off like its nbd after first tri. Hum. Not interested in giving my kid fetal anemia and having to go for weekly monitoring. Idiot.

mcktymck I completely understand the frustration. H acts like me being home all day with DS is a huge break and doesn't understand why I want time off from him once H gets home.
He offered to take DS to go get crickets for the chameleon when he got home today so that he could get out of the house some. When I suggested stopping at the store to grab a few things he acted like I was being unreasonable and was like "you'll have to keep him home then while I run to the store by myself" Umm...no, I take him to the store all the time, including Monday to get stuff to make you mass quantities of breakfast burritos to freeze and take for breakfast. You can spend an hour with your son running errands.
Heading to the hospital for some blood work pre rhogam shot. Hopefully it doesn't take forever.
Add me to the no sleep list. We should start MOTN check in for insomnia! I was up from 1-3. Ds woke up complaining his toe hurt ........... And I couldn't fall back asleep.

There's an insomnia checkin on the mental wellness board if you're interested!
tikoberry99 and housecarder exactly! He thinks that since I work from home that I should be able to do both. It's not like Sam is just going to lay there all day and not make a peep while I'm working. I don't think he understands how newborns work. He even made a comment about how it seems like I have a lot of time on my hands because I can take walks in the middle of the day and whatnot. Apparently because I work from home I don't get to take breaks.
It's just so upsetting to have him say things like this, especially when I thought we were on the same page regarding how it would all work once Sam came. Part of the reason I was okay with him quitting his second job was due to the fact that he'd be home to help out with Sam so that we wouldn't need to figure out other arrangements. And now I'm overwhelmed over something that I never thought was going to be an issue.

I'll check it out next time I'm up all night! Which is hopefully not tonight

Maybe you need to have a sit down with him about this and let him know that you feel he isn't taking your job seriously and that he's underestimating how much care an infant needs.
This is going to take forever. There's like seven people in front of me and they close at 5:30. Hopefully since I'm checked in they won't make me wait until tomorrow.
Did I mention ds has a mystery rash on his neck? It almost looks like dry skin patches, he's not itching it and no fever. When do you guys call the Pedi for this kind of stuff? This is day 2, but it's not getting worse
cabbagecabbage, I like your daughter. Mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best!
housecarder, I would take working during my last pregnancy over being home with a toddler now. I had a desk job so I can't say it was too exhausting. DS is a whole other story. Thank goodness he still usually takes a nap!
Ray, ugh what a crappy situation. I hope everyone is healthy.
mcktymck, sorry about your husband. He may not realize it now, but when that baby comes, you both will be working 24/7 regardless if that's at home or at official work. Going to work will seem like a break some days! Being a SAHM, this topic can really piss me off. Yes, I stay at home. But no, I'm not sitting around eating bonbons all day (except for right now as I'm eating gummy bears). I work too. I'm even getting a promotion in July - or maybe a demotion - more work, an additional demanding boss, but still zero pay :-)
melody330, DS gets rashes like that occasionally. They usually appear around when he's has a cold. I've called the ped in the past, and he basically says as long as it's not getting worse and DS doesn't seem affected or in pain, then not to worry about it. Kids get harmless rashes often. But if I'm at all worried, I don't hesitate to call the ped. That's what they're there for. Hopefully it's nothing!
Blood work is done, and instead of going home I stopped to get myself ice cream. I'm sitting in the parking lot in glorious silence eating it without sharing.

mcktymck I hope your DH sees the light soon. It might take until baby is actually here, though. I felt like my H didn't get it until I left him alone with the baby all day. I also had to let him figure it out on his own and let them establish their own relationship. It's hard because we are already dealing with and sacrificing for the baby even though it's not here yet. Men don't have that connection until the little one actually arrives. Hugs!
mcktymck I hope your dh sees the light soon. Just because you work from home doesn't mean it isn't a real job or that you can multi-task two big jobs. Tell him to stop acting like your mother. Lol
Thank you for understanding that. Just had a friend tell me at least I am pregnant.
I may have went off on her.
Trust me I am very grateful for this baby. Now I want to bash her face in.
I hate when people say shit like that. Of course I am grateful for these babies. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat even knowing everything I'd go through. However that doesn't mean it doesn't suck balls and I need to vent from time to time.
I am considered pre-diabetic or type 2 so diet is a given during pregnancy for me, and then it just depends on how soon I need insulin. I was on a pump with DS and immediately after birth was testing in normal range so at least it goes back after. But there are times when I have to say fuck the diet and eat what I can handle because the only thing I might be able to keep down is some crackers or other carb.
I'm supposed to be on insulin right now but honestly I can't keep enough down to justify it to myself and my numbers aren't that high. So I'm just watching it.
I'm really sorry. It's such a blow to hear the news. I had it last time.
I promise you though, it's not that bad, especially because you have really borderline numbers like I did I believe. I wouldn't go as far as to say I was pleasantly surprised but I was so tense about how GD would play out that it took me a couple weeks to realize, oh, I've totally got this. I'm going to be fine.
But hugs to you because it still sucks.
P.S. I hope this doesn't sound like "at least you're pregnant" because fuck her that's uncalled for.
She did apologize later. I told her to get rid of that sentence and never say it to anyone ever again. Still a bit pissed off about it because it is something she should have never said. I don't care if she heard one pregnant woman say it.
cavewmn yes paleo is no carb basically. I did a paleo diet after DS was born and lost a ton of weight and my numbers were fantastic, but I got what they call the carb flu and was miserable after a week. It eventually goes away or you can add small amounts of carbs back in.
The biggest thing is that you want to avoid fruit or sweets in the morning when hormones are highest and keep your carb count to a minimum. I am supposed to have only 15 grams of carbs for breakfast and snacks and 30 for lunch and 45 for dinner. You can cut more if you feel like it, but I wouldn't get caught up in going full paleo if it will stress you out.
I will say I did a modified paleo because I didn't worry about making my own sauces and dressings, ect. I'd still use light Italian dressing or what not. For my "carb flu" I added back in sweet potatoes and small amounts of white potatoes. H has celiac's so paleo was great for him too.

When you start tracking your sugar, you'll see what effects you most. I was given parameters on carbs, protein, and fat for each meal so I don't know if paleo would mesh or not but the general idea seems about right. For me, fruit was a killer and so were potatoes. I actually did fine with a teaspoon of sugar and milk in my coffee every morning. I switched to ezekial bread, made most of my meals either a grazing of items (like a hard boiled egg, carrot sticks, celery and pb) or soup based or salad based. I prepped lots of nuts, eggs, and veggies for snacks.

This! You'll see what spikes your sugar once you start testing. I did ok with fruit. I found no sugar added foods, i.e. Jelly, syrope, etc helped. Wheat bread, dream fields pasta.
Just make sure you eat smaller portions of carbs and eat a protein and veggie with eat meal.
They make no sugar added ice cream.....I would have a half a cup of that with melted peanutbutter at night. My numbers would be fine in the am.

The no sugar icecream used to kill my stomach! Fake sugar can have a laxative effect. For me I'd rather have a small amount of the real stuff over anything with artificial sweeteners.
Except Diet Coke. You can pry my Diet Coke from my cold dead fingers.

So sorry about the gd (((hugs))) and wtf to your friend. You are allowed to have emotions during your pregnancy and don't need the inconsiderate "at least you're pregnant " comments.
cavewmn, so sorry about the GD (and to others who have it as well). Seems like you have a lot of support and helpful tips from ladies on here. Hope you manage it well, but you have every right to complain. Just one more thing to deal with :-(
