Well the dinner with the ILs went pretty well. My SIL came too, I made a huge pot of tortellini with pancetta, mushrooms, garlic, and spinach (my own concoction that turned out pretty yummy), and everyone was all about Ch. they brought her gifts! Toy keys, two dollies, a fancy purse, some outfits. And Ch was soaking it up. She made everyone clap for her, she was like "what daaat?" And pointed to her room, leading everyone in to see her toys, she showed off her vocab and played games with everyone, and she demanded that everyone come eat dinner next to her. DH was a bit moody but ok, and no one was pushy toward him. I secretly told his SIL to tell his parents to apologize and tell him they loved him, so they did, and it worked- he allowed them to come over and the feud is tentatively on hold. Both his mom and his sister secretly said thanks. Diplomacy, y'all. Anyway it was a short visit but a pretty good one. Ch was being sooo cute. She's quite the entertainer.
I hope everyone's Tuesday's go smoothly! To steal from ashlantic I think, wishing hot coffee and happy toddlers for everyone
Sitting here drinking my coffee while lo happily reads his books. He loves to pull them off the shelf and flip through them one by one. It cracks me up listening to him babble like he's really reading them. I can always tell when he's got a book with animals in it because he makes all his animal sounds.
bkmama0 I'm glad your IL'S visit was short and sweet! BabyStandish drinking coffee in a quiet house sounds heavenly. megpie5 hope F is still feeling better this morning!
Morning all! No Good in front of that. Work is depressing the crap out of me. But it is what it is.
Last night was a few firsts for Leo. He drank out of a straw. Yay! I hope to move his milk into a straw cup. He was so cute after figuring it out, clapping each time he did it. First time he paid attention to a movie on the tv. We were watching a scary movie and he stopped in his tracks to stare. I guess we'll have to watch what type of movies we put on. And then first time he threw big ole tantrum. So bad I thought he was going to throw up. All because he didn't want to go to bed. But he was so tired he could barely walk a straight line. I ended up rocking him to sleep.
bkmama0 I'm glad you found some peace with the ILs. Jimmy Carter would be proud!
BabyStandish that sounds like a really nice morning.
ashlantic your little dude is just the cutest! I can totally picture him.
littlelion ugh. Sending you vibes for a better work day and a smooth evening when you get home. I hate when a rough night bleeds into the next day. <hugs>
I'm going to be cleaning like a mad woman and cooking/freezing meals for while I'm gone. A quick visit with my friend this morning and then it's all about the chores. Hope everyone has a good day!
littlelion hope your day gets better, sorry your job is such a bummer. I'm spacing out so bad at work today, just want to plan a vacation or something (with money I don't have). Le sigh. Hugs to you.

I'm sooo sore.
I hate that Em is such a pain at mealtimes now. She wants nothing to do with her food. But, she wants to eat everything on my plate. Super frustrating.
littlelion, I hope your day turns around! ((hugs))
I'm effing starving. I've finally reached a stopping point with work to go get some lunch. Too bad nothing sounds appealing lol
Your post just gave me a flashback to my pregnancy with F. Every day at lunch I would be starving since I spent all morning puking, look at all my options with disgust then opt to eat nothing since the thought of everything made me sick. How long until I forget that feeling so I'm up for GKU again?!
BabyStandish thanks! littlelion I hope your day has improved! Yay for Leo drinking out of a straw! kcrus thanks! Good luck prepping everything. ourcrazynavylife I can totally relate to your struggles. Lo does that to us, even though we have the exact same thing on all our plates! Lots of pointing and showing "My bread, your bread. They're the same." Aaaand repeat. dashook how are you feeling these days? Hope you found something to eat.

I'm right there with you! The struggle was so so real. I pretty much only ate cereal and pasta for the 1st trimester because that's all I could stomach.

I'm doing okay! I'm 12+1 now and the nausea is definitely subsiding, but sometimes I still just can't think of anything appetizing.
I ended up getting an AH-MAZING smoothie (blueberry, strawberry, banana, kiwi, grapefruit juice) and a vegetable barley soup that was just okay. I washed it all down with a little brownie and an iced (decaf) coffee from DD
littlelion your morning was contagious! I had to drive my friend's daughter to school this morning because her husband refused to it. Her daughter's high school is only five minutes from their house (and 50 minutes from mine), but he didn't want to "start his day late" (he owns his own business and could totally have pushed back his day twenty minutes). The kid's school is twenty minutes from my oldest's middle school...BUT my oldest got sick and threw up all over the car, so I wound up driving out there just to take her kid to school and having to bring mine back home. All so this man wasn't inconvenienced. I see why she jokes about getting a hit man all the time!!! Ladies, do NOT let your man be like that. My husband was in shock. Couldn't believe she would bend over backwards for him like that. Such a fun morning. Ugh.

Anyone going to the beach this summer or have a sandbox. Target has an awesome little set of buckets/tools for playing in the sand for like $3 and sidewalk chalk buckets for $1
ourcrazynavylife so cute! I'll have to look for it. I want to get LO a sand table when we finally move and have a yard for one, plus some beach trips this summer!
I hurt my back doing absolutely nothing. I am walking around like I'm 100 years old. I know it's because of 1. I'm getting old and 2. I have no core or back muscles any longer after having a c section and hardly working out since. I'd love to maybe try some yoga, I've never done it before. I used to be a 4-5 days a week at the gym kinda gal, even up to the weekend before I had Leo. Any yoga lovers here? Maybe ashlantic? Would I be able to do a beginner class with absolutely zero core muscles left?
sgio7485 I do yoga by Adrienne on YouTube. She's funny and you can totally do it with zero core. I am essentially a human gummy bear, but I'm able to do it.

Oooh I'll have to look into that. I did a barre class and thought I was going to pass out despite being fairly active pre-Leo. My body hates me now. Totally a bonus that I could do that workout at home! Thank you!
sgio7485, you can totally do yoga! It's meant to be something you can ease into and you will find yourself getting stronger and more flexible each time you do it. I'm actually planning to start my prenatal yoga DVD again this week!

sgio7485 exactly this! A hatha class is a good starting point. A good yoga teacher will show you how to modify poses so that you can challenge/back off as needed. My core was completely shot after lo but I was able to build it up again. Hope your back feels better.
